While I agree that this is a good article, would player parents be happy if their sons were being injected with substances not approved for human use?
Well thank you for providing an opinion. It's much appreciated.I have said elsewhere that questions can and will be asked about this from the MEMBERSHIP in due course.
But, I'm not expecting too many heads to roll either way.
Yeah!
They'll ring your Mum.
They are sitting there waiting to see who flinches first.
If I ran an AFL club I'd organise a player/supporter lunch at the local oval and give the ACC the fat finger.

This piece will be very close to the mark from what I have heard.
Non banned. Dodgy.

Not to mention substances that are in all likelihood going to end up banned.
Pumping your body full of drugs that have not yet been banned by the governing body only because they are yet to be approved for human use is still the ultimate in cheating.

I dunno maybe its because I'm on the outside looking in but if this happened to my club, there'd be several people if wanna see the back of regardless of investigation results. Mud sticks.
You weren't aware who did testing for the AFL. You decided to ignore my previous quoted post of yours. Not to mention substances that are in all likelihood going to end up banned.

Just what do you bring to this site apart from the constant childish, obsessed shots at the Dockers and our supporters, and lame-brained, border-line ******ed conspiracy theories about the Victorian media?
You sir, are an arse.
One thing Essendon tends not to do is public blood-letting.
The one thing I think about going back to the Knights saga was the blood-letting that did go on. That was not the Essendon way - nor was it the Essendon way with what it did with the end of Sheedy.
Yes - I do think there'll be an EGM after the investigation is completed and that Hird, Robson and Evans will face the members in attendance.
The likelihood of the membership actually calling for a vote of no-confidence on any of them is pretty remote. The coterie groups do wield power at Essendon and they are all on the side of the 3 men mentioned above.
The general membership would all fall behind that group.
The one thing that has been clearly evident is that the majority of Essendon people collectively, are united in such a way the rest of the competition won't know what hit it.
Not enough love for this post/article. Probably the only half intelligent thing said in the last 130 pages.
IMO is the most likely situation. What the punishment will be IF TRUE is anyones guess!!
IF TRUE everyone is telling the truth. Hird, Dank, the ACC but it all falls in a massive grey area. My guess would be no suspensions for the players but I would imagine the AFL would come down pretty hard on the Bombers.
In the article by Caroline Wilson ans Emma Quayle we read this:Maybe Malifice not so far off the mark?
Dank said the players were given vitamins intravenously, but did not clarify whether they were injected with peptides.
Richard Ings, former head of ASADA is most concerned that what would in every sense be the perfectly legal use of legally available yet WADA banned supplements, a word he feels "dumbs down the issue" by a non-playing individual, therefore completely free to do as they wish, is "not a good look".CARO MELDRUM-HANNA: Did you inject any Essendon players with a prohibited substance?
STEVE DANK: No.
CARO MELDRUM-HANNA: What did you inject Essendon players with?
STEVE DANK: Oh, look, they had intravenous injections for vitamin B and vitamin C, which are quite compliant with the WADA code.
CARO MELDRUM-HANNA: What else were Essendon players injected with?
STEVE DANK: Nothing else, intravenously, no.
CARO MELDRUM-HANNA: How then were peptides applied? Because the suggestion is that peptides were applied intravenously.
STEVE DANK: No, there was no intravenous application of peptides whatsoever.

Are you surprised at all by the seemingly overwhelming support for these 3?
do you mean united in their delusion?
The mere fact that Ings didn't know if the Essendon coaches faced consequences and that it was a "very technical issue" says to me that Malifice may be closer than people think. In the article by Caroline Wilson ans Emma Quayle we read this:
Yet in the interview:

What I see as "not a good look" is a half baked report extremely low on evidence making widely sweeping claims it seem unable to back-up.
United by the facts, not the supposition everyone else is falling over themselves with.
United by the loyalty to the club, to Hird. To Essendon.
You may have heard the "We Are Essendon" chant at matches. That is unity. Expect to hear that Friday night, in Wangaratta, in Canberra, in Adelaide in Round 1.
Not really.
Hird is obvious. He could kill Bambi and the Essendon faithful would back him to the hilt.
Evans is the club chairman. For the media muppets to call for his head, when we all know that club boards are basically kept well separate from on-field matters, unless a board member or 2 is represented on the match committee, that Evans quite rightly has done nothing wrong and would be safer than Fort Knox.
That leaves Robson - whilst it is indeed the case that as CEO he has the final say on who is employed at every level of the club and that to a point, his due diligence in the employment of Dank maybe questioned - it can also be said he did nothing actually wrong either.
