Who are people preferring out of Patton or J.Kennedy? I have Kennedy at the moment but Patton's price is so attractive for a player of his potential and it allows me to upgrade to a mid premium. Or anyone in between?

JJKennedy is priced at 52

Patton at 35

Whoever you see increasing those avgs most and depending on what that extra 90k could do to the rest of your team? The question mark is for you to answer

I've missed most of the nab cup.. Any standouts?

afl.com.au has all the articles/reports and stats for each game. Also if you want to look into it more read bigfooty or the teams reports or even watch the games, quite a few are replays and others can be found on team sites. You mightve missed it but plenty of time to catchup before round 1.

Would appreciate some feedback on my team that I've just finished with.. Would also appreciate it if some people weren't dicks and don't post 'shit team!!1111!!!1'. CC would be nice.

I'm not too sure about having Mitchell in my side. I had Pendlebury before I swapped him for Dangerfield. Also not sure about Broughton. I know I'm taking a bit of a risk having Harper in my side as well.

Who's everyone going with their choice of captain and vc? I have 9k in the bank to spare.

Starting team looks good. Got a captain choice and 5 gun mid with 5 rookies which is common for a reason - because its good.

Id just say maybe look more into NAB and how rookies are or have been scoring, bit of work to do there outside of the mids and backs.

Not bad! Not sure about having Zorko in the midfields though, seems like a waste.

With so many options in the mids and so little forward premo's to pick from, id rather see Zorko in the forward line.

Also doubt Embley will be right for round 1....

I really just have Zorko there for the dual position. But I'm not sure what benefit having that dual position is with all the trades available this year.

Im waiting to see what happens with Embley. Ive heard different reports about him, so its a wait and see with him IMO

DP players aren't that important this year IMO with 2 trades per week. No point sacrificing a mid spot just for a DP link you may never use.

Hi guys, I am new here and this is my second year of dream. I will appreciate you giving me feed back on my team.

**** me that is a strong team. I'd be concerned with a 3/0/3 setup in defense, but really, this is one of the best teams I've seen on here imo.

Very good effort for a second year of dream team.

Keep in mind that Vlastuin and Docherty are sub risks and neither are guaranteed for round 1. Keep a close eye out before the Richmond game for Vlastuin but with Docherty I would suggest maybe bringing on Pittard as his JS is very solid. That hardest thing about playing 3 back line rookies is avoiding the vest which i think can be done.

Very good midfield. No Swan but that could pay off for you. Interested in your thoughts behind having Zorko in your midfield though? Have you considered moving him into your forward line? You could replace Lee/Rowe with Zorko and then bring in a midfield rookie which are looking far stronger than forward rookies. Possibly Couch?

Also be careful of Kennedy as he will be playing as a deep forward.

Good luck :thumbsu:

Couldnt really get a wekaer backline if you tried.

People relying on 3 port rookie backs to play each week and Terlich, Docherty, Vlast will end up getting kicked in the backside.
Bet I could. :)

3/0/3 could really hurt you in defense, I agree, but his team has very good structure elsewhere. If those three players do end up getting early games, he'll be absolutely laughing.

I tend to agree with this....despite the fact there are some good back rookies, the chances that all 5 of them will play enough games/avoid the vest is quite slim. Despite the fact you can strengthen other parts of your team, the consequences could be more severe by having one of your starting back rookies either being vested/rested/not named. So there may not be any gain at all from this structure. Could spell disaster if say 2-3 of your back rookies has a shocker and isn't named in round 2 on wards...you will be using quite a few early trades to amend this, where others will be upgrading.

Could work wonders, however you would have to be very lucky IMO.

Hey guys, I did terribly last season so I'm hoping to make amends this year, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have 30k left in the bank

The thing with making mistakes with rookies or not having them named it means you have to make some tough calls during the year.

What happens when Colquohn, Heath, Terlich, Docherty stop getting games in round 4 of the year? Do you cop zero's? do you sideways trade them to another vunerable rookie for no money gain? Or do you have to trade some midprice/premium whos going okay but due to your position need to trade them to another rookie who could well be vunerable in order to upgrade the other rookie because there are no other good rookies in that position?

Just puts you in a precarious position.

Where as if someone at 500k starts stinking it up you can look to downgrade him to whoever is best under that amount or you can look sit take their score until rookies go up in price and upgrade him to a better gun.

I might be taking sides in this argument just to suit myself?

Think that is why mid pricers are more valuable this year.

If they fail, it is an easy downgrade to the best performing rookie. If they do better than expected then they will hopefully generate enough cash to be traded to a premium, or even better be kept as a keeper.

With rookies, they are more used as cash cows and if it fails then you are in trouble unless another option pops up and with 5 rookies in the backs...might be difficult to find that other option.

Also it has its advantage this year by not starting as many so then you can see some for an extra 2 actual rounds and determine what role they are playing and what their JS is like. Is very valuable info and as said if you pick to many you might not have any to downgrade/trade to (theres no GWS/GC era) this year

Your midfield presents a lot of risk...if the standard premo's par round 1 - Swan Ablett Cotchin Boyd Pendlebury... you'll be behind...if you are on pace at round 3 - you're a genius! good luck with it.

if you're going Watson as round 1 captain you may as well loophole him with the VC for a second chance

Cheers for the comments mate, your right midfield is a gamble and as I said its been an epic evolution to get to the current squad, previous incarnations had all of Swan, Ablett, Pendles and Cotchin (plus every other f*ker in the comp). To be honest this line up cold either revert to 10 versions ago or evolve into primal ooze. What do people think of Stefan Martin in the forward line or in ruck with other combo's? Ive had him in and out over the last month.

I may also be taking sides here, hopefully i am not scaring anyone away from a 3/0/3 back structure...just food for thought.

No 1 way to play this game and this year will bring around more strategies than ever before IMO.

If there are 5 rookies starting round 1 that are backs by all means would be a good strategy. I just find it hard to see it that way right now and plus im not confident on any port rookies scoring that well in the real thing so im trying to get them onto my bench where scores dont count but JS is good
