i'd be happy to make the switch over to a fully digital game libary for my consoles (and the drm that MS are pushing that goes along with it) if they could provide some sort of genuine back-compatibility.

i hate the idea of the life of my games library being tied to not only the hardware itself (i can be ****ed keeping 7 or so old consoles around in case i want to play an old game) but the life of the online-access to that digital library on the server (original xbox shut down their server in 2010; how long until all those xbla/digital games purchased on the 360 are inaccessible?).

with steam, i can download and play the same licence of half life 2 purchased almost a decade ago despite upgrading my pc like 3 times since then.

give me that kind of benefit rather than shit like "family sharing" and i'll complete ditch physical copy gaming.

What happens when you move in?!

One in the family room, one in the lounge lol. By the time the One is out we are hoping to be living together but it's a function that can work for some people like it would for me.

Also like it's been said, it's not like you have sex 24-7, sometimes she wants to watch her shows (Masterchef and crap) and i am there thinking damnit, Should have brought this game or that game over to play.

It lists the NFL stuff as a feature on the xbox live Australia site. Read into it what you will.

The Big Sauce

Cheers.

I still won't be a Day ONE guy. Maybe in a year or two.

PS4 will still be enough for the time being :)

Throw in an NBA League Pass and I would just about be over the line.

Of course the devil is in the detail.

Wait. Wut? Just as part of the console?

You Bawks guys can watch the NBA for nix?

Download the NBA Game Time app from the Xbox App Store (or whatever they call it), enter your League Pass details, and you can watch whatever NBA match you want in pristine HD quality right on your TV, albeit the stream can be a little inconsistent. You get stats, match highlights, top 10s and standings for free.

Ah ok, not really that a big deal then, no different to going in using the browser really.

Reckon if they negotiated with the NFL and NBA and agreed to some licensing/advertising revenue or something and said "NBA and NFL League Passes included when you buy your XBox One!", they would have a massive increase in customers outside the US.

If they also did a Bundle discount for Foxtel then....

I would be lining up now.

But. It seems as though its much-ado about nothing. Still 50/50.

If they bundled it together though grroey, it would work good enough. I would purchase a pass but find I can't watch enough to make it worthwhile. If it just came with my console I wuold watch a game every now and then. Added value and all that.

Microsoft don't do value.

Even the 'F2P' World of Tanks is behind the XBL pay wall.

You raise a fair point, would you pay more for your membership or do you mean bundle it in with the live cost?

Microsoft don't do value.

Ever tried opening that other eye?
