The reaction when Darren Boyd made a note of Footscray/WB's bright future compared to that of Richmond VFL/Richmond's made me laugh. Like they don't want to acknowledge the tide turning.

Watching them on TV, I'm not surprised we towelled them in Round 1. There's no area of the ground that they excel in.

I like how they show the huddles at the breaks getting to listen to some of the coaches from different clubs over the weeks. Gary Aires knows how to motivate his group a lot better than some others I've seen

It's a little bit sad. We've heard so many stories of days gone by - Chapman, Ablett Jr, etc playing in a Geelong VFL flag, and later emulating that on the biggest stage of all. Box Hill, the fabled development ground for Hawthorn.

But these old bastards, covered in cobwebs and still clinging to the days of Bartlett, Roach, Hart and Richmond making the finals in consecutive years, the Colliwobbles, the brown paper bag days at Princes Park, they just can't handle the thought that Footscray finally aren't on the road to nowhere.

I hope they're all still alive to see us win a premiership. It'll be glorious.
