Ben and Bunk are both right. And that's why trade week(s) generally is one massive stalemate.

I suppose the question is, what happens with Ryder if he does end up staying here? Does he play, sulk and stink it up? Not play and just stand out of football? Languish in the VFL?

All three are shit scenarios.

He'll play Rd 1. And Rd 2. And Rd 3. And so on. O'Keefe and Caddy are two examples off the top of my head, but playing him in the VFL is ridiculous from every angle.

  1. ASADA shit ends.
  2. Hird remains head coach and Ryder falls back in love with the club.
  3. Ryder puts in his most solid pre-season ever to repay his team mates for derailing the final in 2014.
  4. Ryder plays well in the first few rounds and us supporters fall back in love with him.
  5. ??????
  6. He wins the Norm Smith in the 2015 premiership side.
Pretty obvious I would have thought :$ :rainbow:

mmm has Fremantle started sniffing around for Ryder. Sounds like they can offer a fair trade. Might send the Port bogan pack into panic mode :D

Nothing would please me greater if Paddy ended up somewhere other than Port.

LOL.. That is what the club should do.. get another team interested.. get a fair deal on the table.. and then tell Port to pay up or shove off..

Imagine if he didn't go to Port now.. and rips it up next year.. and they can sit and suffer in their jocks!

I actually can't believe they are being so stupid about it.. they want him.. he wants to go there.. why wouldn't you just put a decent trade on the table and be done with it??

Has to be holding up all the other trades...

Even if it's not us, whoever he is playing next year it would be great for him to have a BOG performance and kick the matchwinner in the game that kicks port out of the finals.

Of course it would be ideal if it is us against them in a prelim.

I hope we get proactive and start to shopping paddy around to other clubs, f*** this being stuck between a rock (only dealing with PA) and a hard place (we'll use the clause BS).

Get on the front foot Essendon.

If Port were remotely serious they'd have picks 17 & 37 on the table by now.

Because they dont have anything they can trade.

They're a top 4 side, nobody is going to leave them unless they get a Buddy contract.

Lol rubbish if you dont want a player that is gonna miss games dont bring him in. Does not alter his value one bit especially since we are willing to keep regadless of what happens. **** these port flogs are dumb.
The rest of that arguement is not worth responding too
