Adelaide tomorrow. Though I work there every now and then don't get to look around much. First stop Allans Music for a couple of hours to try everything out then say "no thanks" and leave. Will have to park the Mrs somewhere though. DJ's. Haigh. Maybe Hahndorf this arvo.

I reckon just give her your credit card, allrighty, and arrange to meet her for lunch. She can wander the city to her heart's content.

Or drop her at the DFO equivalent (I think it's called "Harbour Town" over there, same as Perth) on your way into Allans if you don't think she can keep herself occupied in the mall for a few hours.

Victor Harbour is one big retirement village. It's ironic then that Victor also hosts 'Schoolies', with over 10,000 SA school-leavers (and the odd toolie) partying there for multiple days.

It is a great spot though. Did you go over to Granite Island?

Sounds like the SA equivalent of Mandurah, where all the Perth people retire, or Esperance- where all the people from the Goldfields seem to retire.

Well I had two coffees and eggs benedict for breakfast (that lasted me until about dinner time), I bought several new polos from Ben Sherman, Super Dry and Rodd and Gunn, Mum bought my sister an Oroton 1938 medium barrel bag.

She also bought some facial and hand cream (can't remember but I think one was a salt scrub) and some new towels from Sheridan. And lastly I paid $25 for a 2015 Newfy calendar I just couldn't resist after seeing what was on the cover:

Did she go to Lush to get the salt scrub? My daughter uses that.

I love your new calendar. Every year our newsagent has a pop-up stall (just selling calendars) in our shopping centre. I spend ages looking at them all - it's SO bloody hard to choose just one. In the past, I've bought Simpsons calendars, calendars with horses, cats or chickens, some with photos of WA countryside, garden calendars- even a coffee calendar. There's something for everyone there.

So how many days do I need to "take in" Adelaide and the game?

Just going back to shopping for a minute- looking at the dresses at Shieke, I was astounded by the number of dresses with make up on the necklines of them.

One rack, ALL of the dresses had make up on them!

1. are the sales ladies blind? Not a good look this imo. Especially dresses $150+. Like GTFO.
and
2. **** women you shit me in general. Have some ****ing consideration. Maybe a. dont go shopping with make up on, or b. take some ****ing care when you get changed ffs.

Picking a calendar is easy for me. I currently have a 2014 Newfy calendar on my fridge

I used to always buy a "planner" or "organiser". Those days are gone though, thankfully. The pictures were usually really crappy but at least I could fit all the meetings and appointments etc. on the one page. Didn't bother including regular things like footy and swimming training because there'd be no room for anything else.
Now I'm free to choose a calendar for its pictures! Yay!

That is disgusting, Shell. Definitely should be some sort of check when people drop the dresses back after trying them on- maybe a $5 bond and you lose it if you leave makeup on it. Get the bond back if the dress is clean. The bond could go toward having the makeup cleaned off the dresses. (Cakeface!)

When my daughter was trying on dresses for her ball a few years ago, I was really surprised to see how many seams were split and how many zips were broken. Bloody inconsiderate teenage girls!
The shop assistant said the split seams were because the girls either underestimated their size or wanted to squeeze into a size smaller.

My auntie and uncle always used to holiday at Victor Harbour. Said it was a lovely, relaxing holiday there. (they used to take their caravan down) I've not been there, though- sounds like a place you'd recommend?

My cousin lived right on the beach at Sellicks Beach, which is on the Adelaide side of the promontory from Victor Harbour. The whole part of the coast from Glenelg south to Sellics Beach to Myponga Beach, around the promontory to Victor Harbour is gorgeous! I always imagined Tom Selleck running around there, Magnum PI + my cousin was very bohemian, an artist, from the wealthy side of our family, who didn't work. Silly, isn't it.

Dunno about having to put in a "bond" system for trying on dresses, but jesus christ if you cant try on a dress and return it in the exact same condition as you tried it on, there is something seriously wrong with society.

IDK really how to solve this, the most logical thing is dont wear make up if you are going to be trying on dresses and tops. But I guess some women are so ****ing insecure and cant leave the house without make up, so that might not be the best solution either.

I went to the Adelaide game in 2012, drove from Sydney to Adelaide, which was absolutely amazing!!! I'd always wondered how the states' boundaries were determined + crossing from NSW to SA is sooooooo different! Superb country in both states, but then I am a crazy cat lady, so can you imagine what happened when I saw moo-cows, baa-lambs, horseys + emus? I had to talk to them + was mightily affronted when the baa-lambs ran away Then soooooo lunatic-ally excited when I saw emus!!! Stopped to talk to them + to take photos! x 1,000,000. They are such savage beasts! Ran back to my car + the bug***s jumped the fence

Stayed with friends in Adelaide, who are so Adelaide-proud, had a fabulous time + went up to Hans Heysen country to a gorgeous German town. Had a ball, went to Shaw + Smith vineyard + a couple of others. But could have spent more time doing the vineyards. Then drove from Adelaide to Geelong x 1,000,000 - gorgeous fishing towns, with the most adorable B+B's. If you go to the game in Adelaide, I'll join you, if you like + we can drive back to Geelong. All along the 12 Apostles, Cape Otway etc - stunning!

The game will be at the Adelaide Oval next season, so looking forward to seeing the new development. Adelaide is just divine! + we'll kidnap Strangled Cat, barmy44 + other SA'ns. Now how can we get Teriyakicat across from WA?

My neighbour was (she's an angel now) a highly regarded, talented, award-winning costume designer + set designer for the theatre, ballet + opera. She had a black fluffy cat called Thuggie, who died at the age of 25. The following Christmas was approaching + I saw an advert for a Thuggie look-alike, showed her + asked if she'd like a Kitten for Christmas. She said yes, the kitten was at Bankstown - the suburb that Eddie Everywhere confused with Blacktown - GWS. A felafel at Bankstown, remember?

So my neighbour + I set out early on a Saturday morning to collect the kitten. Stopped at Bankstown Square for a cappuccino, only to be amazed that the shopping centre was completely empty. We'd heard a car backfiring + there were security guards + we pressed on, found a cafe + ordered our cappuccinos. The girl in the cafe was quite sullen + not enthusiastic to serve us, but we chatted on, the car backfired a few more times. She gave us cappuccinos + off we went. On the way back to the car park there were police everywhere, madly waving at us + we thought how friendly they were. The damn bloody bug***y car backfired again + the police were trying ever so hard to get our attention + we waved at them again. Then a Police SWAT team nearly knocked us over, I'd have been so p!**ed off if they'd spilled my cappuccino. Back to the car + that stupid car was still backfiring. We went + collected the kitten (which is another story altogether) drove home via Earlwood, stopped at the Our Lady of Lourdes grotto, bought some Lourdes water, baptised the Kitten + drove home. That evening at 6:00 + 20 seconds, my neighbour rang, screeched "Turn on the NEWS!!!!!!!! N - O - W - ! ! ! ! !"

There'd been a shoot out at Bankstown Square that morning between police + men 'of Mediterranean appearance' with the SWAT team storming the shopping centre (+ nearly spilling my cappuccino), shooting one of the men OMA dead, arresting a few!!!

So we'd gone into buy cappuccinos during the shooting - which I thought was that damn annoying car backfiring! So the news cameras are covering it + who do we see leaving Bankstown Square car park? Kitty's little VW Polo - didn't notice anything!!!
