If I had to choose only between these two, NVB and Pearce.
But I would prefer any rookie and Pearce, pocket the cash as an option

Cheers bud and yeah that's the other option, not totally sold on either of VB or Pearce atm to be honest, just throwing a few options around.

Well Pearce did everything he could yesterday in order to convince us, or more importantly, to convince Ross the Boss.
With what we know right now, I think he is as good an option as any mid-priced defender. Don't forget, he was locked and loaded first 22 before injury struck. So Ross is a fan

Oh yeah most def......be interesting to see how he performs in the remaining NAB cup games because if he performs well then like you say he is as good an option as any mid-priced defender and will present as a very good cash cow!!

If he were to return to his best, he could well end up a viable D6 this year

Talk of bruised ribs
If that's all it is then I doubt it impacts on Clancee's inclusion or otherwise come Rd 1.
Some talk it was a shoulder. I didn't see it but read that this morning. Then again, journo's know squat about injuries

Fisher and Goldstein v Smith/Simpson and Maric

Fisher and Goldstein for me......Goldy is a given and SC is all about risk and reward. Fisher is a fallen prem not a mid pricer and with a full preseason under his belt I think he can return to his lofty hights of the past.....big fan of Fisher!!

Selwood V Beams V Sloane V Priddis ???

After his first NAB cup game I'm leaning towards Beams.....obv like a lot of players we'll have to see how they perform over all the preseason games but tonight's game against the swans will shed a bit more light on how Beamsy is looking.....

Smith/Simpson and Maric IMO. Fishers body too much of a concern.

I would pick Smith just ahead of Simpson IMO. Simpson is reliable & longer high soring SC history of course.
Smith has more upside as still developing.
