So are you the town's sheriff OTB or Lipservice or whoever? The whole argument is that the paper continues to place negative issues on the front page that are sensational and negative. Does this article stop domestic violence? Not on your life! Was it courageous? Yes. My continued argument is that the paper has not had a front page article for a long time that has had a positive feel good story. As long as pictures are on the front page you will like the paper as with your rather limited IQ it might be easier to comprehend. Now I await all of the friends that you have made on this forum as either OTB or Lipservice in the past week to come running from the hills...gee I will be like Custer! And as for awareness...perhaps you grab some of that at the shop when you are buying some common sense.

Riv Herald Monday " Beattie Belted"
Riv Herald Wednesday " Footy Shame"
Riv Herald Friday " Former Echuca doctor, bashed, degraded, manipulated"

See a pattern forming here? Must have sold some papers on Monday as continued the week with it.
The incident is being investigated so lets see what the outcome is in 3-4 weeks.

I realise the argument has been about the negativity of the newspaper. I thought this being a footy forum it was meant in footy context.
Can I say as a female reading this highlighted bit is disappointing. Only recently has the campaign started for blokes to tell blokes that violence against women is not ok. will that campaign stop domestic violence or violence against women perhaps not totally but it may have an impact, at least let's hope so. I'm sure the lady in question told her story in the hope it could have a positive impact on other women in similar situations and continue to raise awareness of domestic violence and how anyone no matter who you are could be effected. I'm not saying whether the paper handled it properly I'm just concerned with how it is being portrayed in this battle you guys have going on.

I hope neither of you are using this story as an excuse to fire shots at each other.

Absolutely not..its about the negativity of the before mentioned paper! And in a footy context a headline like " Auskick Numbers Soar" might be nice for a change.

Some good games tomorrow.

Interesting to see how Seymour goes against Benalla as they've picked up a few over the summer.

United-Mooroopna should be a good one too.

Everything went pretty much to script this weekend. Seymour had a crack, but Benalla too good. Mooroopna looking good. Swans, Kyabram and Euroa easy winners.

Happy with Rochy's win over a young Tatura. Good spread of goal-kickers which is something to develop this year with Weeks gone (kicked 10 for Colbo today). I'm a big fan of playing coaches and Flaherty is a good one because he can hold down a key defender post, which has allowed Bowen to go forward. Early thoughts on Flaherty - communication, strategy etc?

Rochy looked pretty impressive moved the ball quickly and appear to be a lot fitter this year , Tat struggling with injuries after half time and not much experience had a crack though , surprised to see Mansfield only kicking four goals against Euroa .

First look a them his year ... noticeably different game plan compared to last couple of years. Run hard and carry out of defence, back your skills and use your hard running teammmates seems to be the go. Better than he stop, hold, chip (and then F@#% it up) version last year. Still short two big blokes to genuinely compete. 'Grant' Bowen kicked 7. Flaherty is clearly well respected, players are fitter, structures more positive ... Kirby a huge threat early at full forward. No obvious defender to match up on big forwsrds like Kirby.

There are no other big forwards like Kirby! Kicked 5 against Ky who have Morgan and Vick. The bloke is 6'5 and weighs 110kgs. If he is given opportunities he will kick goals, but they lack too much quality in other areas of the game. Big forwards in the GV are not that prevalent are they? Have not seen Mellington from Benalla or Bonegetti from Seymour, but most forward lines don't have he big power forward.

Reckon you are generous wih only 110 kg there justsigned! He is a big unit! Tatura stretched Rochy's backline height wise with he and Lovell as I reckon there are three blokes in the side overall who are 6.3 or bigger in Brennan, Gledhill and Bowen. One plays full forward, another in the ruck! Sides like Benalla and Mooroopna have a literal flotilla of tall forwards.

Mooroopna dont have a big strong power fwd from what i saw v swans.
ff ..arho i think..was agile but not super strong by any means.
Lewis at chf spent.more time flying than bodying up. Freaky talent in the air but not physically intimidating by any means.

Both Lewis and McDonald are strong in the air ... Lewis freakishly so. Not seen McDonald yet but appatently can catch it yeah? Last year they had a couple of large bodied ruckmen ... not sure about this year. Lets wait and see how Rochy go against decent sides with three tall forwards...

Quite possibly right Silver Tongue, but I was referring to your post about know match up for Kirby. Know backmen in the league will match up with Kirby. I think Rochy will be fine with two tall forwards, which most teams in the comp seem to have. Three tall forwards will stretch almost all back lines. Ky have Vick, Morgan and then Sheldon, but Sheldon is not a monster by any stretch. Benalla appear to be that far ahead that to mark any team against them is harsh!
