I think I have heard we are into him.Forget about Aish seems others beat us to him
Mark Robinson is adamant that his report of Carlton officials meeting with James Aish is correct after his manager, Liam Pickering, denied the story on Saturday morning.
The chief football writer for the Herald Sun wrote in the paper that a trio of the Blues hierarchy ventured to Queensland to meet with the player.
The talented 19-year-old midfielder is in the last year of his contract and has made it clear he will listen to offers from other clubs.
“I tell you what, when you write football stories and they’re wrong and you name people like Steven Trigg, Stephen Silvagni and Andrew McKay generally you’d get a phone call from one of them,” said Robinson on SEN radio.
“This story has gone all around Australia and I’ve got zero calls, so I’m pretty comfortable with the situation.”
Aish has been dropped twice already this season and will not play against the Blues this Sunday in Melbourne.
Speculation surround the player suggests that he has almost checked out of the Lions and has already decided he is leaving.
“So, where does that leave Pickers?” asked Robinson.
“Either he doesn’t know what his client is doing or Pickers is not telling the truth, it’s one or the other.
“He’s saying they should show that they want to re-sign him, but they’ve put offers to him.”
Move on next.
