You know what is good though, looking at that list in the other thread from mid Neeld era and comparing the dead wood then to the dead wood now. Now I know everyone looks a better player after a win, and being a true MSDS sufferer, I always err on the side of expecting complete farce rather than any modicum of success. However, it really is positive that we are really sort of only upset over Bail and Jones these days. I know there's Watts, Toumpas, Riley and our ruckmen that people froth over but looking at most AFL lists will uncover players no better than them.

I know I'm probably just saying stuff that everyone already knows but I really do think that the next big step is instilling a base level of confidence that makes us truly believe we can win every game. Not just think we are a chance, but truly think we can take on the opposition and beat them. Not if the hawks have a bad day or if Freo have left half their side in Perth or if Port have some big outs, but truly believe we can win.

One decent season a good draft pick does not make, but having a bit of confidence in our recruiters now just makes the club feel like a different place to me. Feels way better going to games these days I reckon. Almost like a different club, except for when we play the top sides. Still, loving being truly pumped for games again. Big test this weekend. Has a lot to do with Roos binning 10 players per year after inheriting the previous list. We've made steady progress, hoping for more of the same and I have my fingers crossed that Goodwin is going to be a decent pickup for us and not just going to unravel the only progress we've made in 10 years.
