Keep it on targets, not list analysis.
It's easy to simply discuss we should target player A B or C but with a list analysis posters can see a) who is tradeable and b) where holes might be. While getting Treloar would be great I honestly believe getting Motlop or Motlop/Yarran together would serve us better. As I said last night we'd be a good chance of getting both Motlop and Yarran for not much more than what it would cost to get just Treloar and we'd find ourselves in much better shape list wise.

As the sub goes next year and rotation changes decrease I don't see any sides playing with only one ruckman . Which means sides will need to become even more flexible and even more players will need to have the ability to go through the midfield . Whilst I think the above side looks ok in a practical sense it isn't , the second change midfield I assume would be lambert , Martin ,lids or Edwards who with the exception of lambert do their best work outside . We literally have two inside mid beast in cotchin and miles and there after we are short . Out of interest if we got both Yarran and Motlop who would they replace IYO ?
We saw when Vickery & Hampson played together than they could work well as a ruck combination and while Hampson might not be as potent as Vickery up forward he'd still give us a viable target deep forward that would allow the likes of Martin Deledio Edwards Motlop Yarran and co to crumb to. With Motlop and Yarran coming in I'd replace 2 of Hunt Lambert or Lennon. As for rotations the listed side isn't set in stone, you'd obviously mix and match as required to get the make up right to ensure we had inside ball winners and outside runners around the ball at all times.

I don't think you can change ruckmen into kpf roles especially CHF especially with the predicted changes next year . For that reason I believe we need another genuine ruckman to take over when Maric retires whilst I believe we have a shortage for inside mids which treloar would fill .
Yarran IMO does not suit a need and most certainly doesn't suit the modern contested game .

Treloar will be cheaper than Dangerfield, we'll get quite a few more years out of him and I honestly believe he can end up just as good if not better. In 3-4 years time whatever contract he's on won't seem ridiculous at all. We may as well make it our contract.

Dangerfield may not end up being that much more expensive if the money Collingwood is rumoured to have offered is true.
Also Danger is a free agent so we wouldn't need to give anything up to land him (unless Adelaide match the offer)

I'd still go Treloar based on age. And I reckon Adelaide will match the offer, if he decides to go he'll do the right thing by them and maximise compensation. It won't be market value but it'll be better than what they get via FA. Obviously if we could get Danger without having to give anything up it would be silly not to have a crack. But I highly doubt we're even in the conversation.

You'd have to think that if we make it into the Top 4 with our young list he would be crazy to not consider coming here compared to Geelong who are about to lose 8 senior players in the next 18 months.
Perhaps we can do a deal with Adelaide that they don't match, but we trade our 1st round pick for a fringe player, so that way they get the 1st round compo pick plus another 1st rounder out of it.

I don't have Vickery and Hampson at CHF but changing deep with Jack and Deledio playing up across CHF as the lead up targets. Corey Ellis is an inside mid who will slot into that role from next year, while the likes of Grigg Conca Titch & Martin are also capable of winning their fair share of contested footy. As for Yarran not having a contested side to his game, he doesn't need to have that to be of good effect in our side. What he provides is more line breaking run as well as silky skills when his confidence is up, which it clearly isn't now playing at the rabble which is Carlton. Rotate him through the back line in place of Hunt and we'd have Houli & Yarran offering rebound run, suddenly Yarran doesn't get sat on like he does now at Carlton as sides will also look to stop Houli as well.

Yarran is only 24. I'd have him in for Lloyd from friday nights game. Would have him as a small forward type. With his disposal, i wouldnt have him anywhere near the half back line, but could definitely sneak a goal or two a game. If we can get 30-40 goals a season from him, he will offer more goal scoring pressure than Newy and Lloyd, especially with Newy most likely retiring at the end of this season also.
Id be happy to give up a second rounder for him.

If we managed to snag him, we'd have 90K members 2016.
Make him mayor of Richmond!

we face some big decisions with our tall timber, Mcbean will be attracting interest by the week. The longer he stays out of our senior side, the more the VFLs leading goal kicker will be convinced his future maybe elsewhere. 2016 and TV is FA, given some of the ridiculous $$$ bandied around for likes of Clarke, Dixon and tom boyd, who knows what might be thrown on the table at TV. I think we can only keep 2 of TV , Mcbean and Griff. so take your pick, the spare is a late R1 bargaining chip (rhys Stanley 21 as reference)

And the chance of Losing someone like Dusty.Nope.

Make Geelong pay a tad more=Release Motlop
Make Pies pay more for Treloar on top of (Adams,Greenwood)=Big Ivan has only a few years left,Lets Offer Grundy something the Pies can't afford to match.

2016-Motlop & Weller
2017-Grundy

I think that is a very big stretch tbh , at the moment comfortably in our best 22 as he is playing the best he ever has or can . He drops off 5% others over take him , such is the depth growing in the restricted roles he plays .
I thought his first year was his best

Watching Luke Ball hosting the Sunday Footy Show, you realize we'd have to overpay for Treloar, can't compete with the opportunities Collingwood can offer. What would be the Richmond equivalent of the Visy Ambassadorial role? (if that kind of thing is even allowed now).

I like your sentiment, re. telling players they need to buy in to the team's future, but if even Dom Tyson wasn't interested in living his childhood dream of running out for the Tiges, I'm not hopeful.

Yep with most of the news blokes now its all $$$$$$.

Edwards comes in for Lloyd and CEllis for Newman ?

Anyone see the vision of his defensive work? Pass.
