I'd just like two queries answered ..
Will the Carlisle deal definitely get done .. ?
Will we retain Pick 5 ... ?
I'm not an insider, but I'd say that's the plan at this stage.

Plenty can happen but as has been said, it would have to be a deal heavily in our favour to give up one of Francis, Parish or Matho - just have faith that we will get it done and get the best result for the club.

No point being too concerned with your questions before the trade period has even started.

Just looking at the combine results in the clean-hands test and the two kicking tests (one goal-kicking), if we want players who are very good with both hands and feet then these guys deserve consideration ....

Rhys Mathieson
Jade Gresham
Jordan Snadden
Tyrone Leonardis
Darcy MacPherson (WB father/son)
Mitch King
Declan Mountford

. His father was a sudanese politician apparently and had 12 wives
12 Crikey:eek:
I keep getting in the shit for forgetting 1 anniversary every yr .
The thought of another 11 getting cranky with me sends chills up my spine:confused:

First post and I'd really like to not get smashed.

Unlikely proposal but I was interested in people's thoughts around potentially trading Geary. I don't have any mail or anything; the idea just popped up and I've been rather torn.

He's a great leader for us but I kind of think that with the emergence of other half backs- Savage, Webster, Roberton, Wright possibly Mac Kenzie and Murdoch- we may be moving past him.

As I said I'm torn. I'd say his worth a pick 25-30 and could help us land Carlisle if paired with our second round pick. Thoughts?

I counted 3, and they've all got talent. Gach Nyuon, Mabior Chol and Thomas Jok. (Next year Goy Lok will be available too.)

Patrick Taban is from Uganda and Rueben William is from Kenya I believe. Got skills too.

I know GACH nyuon personally, I actually grew up with the kid so I'm super excited for him.
Was messaging him on facebook and I shit you not he told me he's had the most meetings with stkilda, after I jomingly told him I can't wait to see him in our colours.

Really good kid, he has a super influence in his older brother machar whose head is screwed on as anything,

Has other family troubles, nothing too bad just not the best for support.

Excellent athlete, and a loose happy kid, I can imagine him being a one club player.
(Especially with me in his ear)

Collingwood (for all their supposed values) are absolutely ruthless with shifting marginal players on. Even ex-Premiership players. We are way nicer than them to our players. Professional sport is a tough business, and the only softies are us supporters. If we move players on, that's life. The players will accept it as they understand this is the reality of their profession. Or should understand it.

The only people who get upset really are supporters...us.

Hamburglar, pls. Dylan Roberton?
Roberton was a delisted free agent I think, so perhaps different. BS has intimated a few times that Sidebottom is a big target of ours as a free agent next year.

That being said, Sidebottom or Hannebery would be okay.
Hanners signed a mega-extension this year to take him to 2021 :(

Edit: I don't think they're counting delisted free agents as 'free agents' (if you get what I mean). Thus, they don't count Robbo & Membrey

He was the AA U/18 ruckman yeah?
Sounds like he is very athletic.
How good is he?

I'm interested in how we manage our later picks (i.e. anything after 20) for use on Rice (if he nominates us).

In a draft which drops off quickly after the first 20, latter picks which have a fixed point value regardless of the draft depth will be of more value to clubs with academy and father son selections than those with live picks.

I'm keen for us to work on pulling in a few picks in the 50+ range on the end of deals where clubs are unlikely to use the pick anyway so that we ensure we carry a max point deficit of 50 points over to next year and don't have our first rounder slide back in the order.

I'd hate to see us slide a couple of picks back in the first round because we carried a couple of hundred points of deficit from Rice.

Surely there are a few clubs out there that will take the minimum 2 picks + a rookie and leave the draft before pick 40 who we could pick up some 3rd or 4th rounders from. Particularly if we ended up with a pick in the 30s we could swap out.

Hanneberry is on a long term contract and not coming out of contract soon.

Sidebottom / Hurley are pretty much it in terms of FA.

Just been reading up on him.. He has 73 siblings... His father was a sudanese politician apparently and had 12 wives and was assassinated before he was born.

Wow! Imagine the odds of getting a decent Father/Son selection from that? :p

I'll just correct by saying there are a few others as well....

We have moved on 3 long standing, loyal players without residual damage. Not one of them, to my knowledge has publicly at least said a bad word against our club.......no damage to the Father Sons! We are just as ruthless as Collingwood or anyone else, just do it better.
