No it isn't petulance to take the best option that is available to you.
If Jake were to get to the PSD, Essendon taking him would be our best option. No petulance involved.

You will just open yourself up to a lawsuit by committing a restraint of trade. Thats on top of paying top dollar for a player who doesnt want to play for you. The AFL would have to step in before any of that.

I doubt any club takes a guy who has quit them. Especially when the club has done it's best to stop him achieving the outcome he wanted. It would be stupidity.

if I'm reading the situation correctly it's going to go down to which side Jake gives preference to. As soon as it wavers to Hawks the deal will be struck.

So Essendon to me are taking a risk in trying to get the better deal with the Hawks with their actions... But in doing so have increased the chances of Jake going to PSD by their actions through the media and whatnot.

All what I think is occurring of course I've got no sources or nothing special haha

You say "need" as if it is fact GWS are lacking, I doubt that GWS are lacking to "need" to do much of anything people suggest they do. They're shedding players with a couple wanting out and may be bought, they'll be fine if they're semi competent without needing to do anything but plays trade week normally.

Fair enough, although another team like Brisbane may need more points to bid on academy players.

WE turn 23 and 25 into 8 via GWS.

Trade our third rounder for Freeman.

End up with picks 8 and 24 instead of 5 and 24, but bring in Carlisle. Would be genius. A masterstroke.

But very unlikely. I'm delusional.

i reckon you would have to sweeten the hell out of the GWS trade. Probably a player and those picks or extra points somehow for them. We will probably have to do a future pick for Freeman.
