Well if a deal cannot be struck. It will head to mediation and I think that's where we will find out what the industry think is fair.
Still think it's common sense to offer a fair deal (win, win) like the good clubs do, instead of holding out for PSD where at least 2 clubs who are in desperate need for quality talls and have cap space would take him

I'd do 5 for Carlisle, 23 and 25 in a heart beat. We'd almost certainly be able to trade 23,24,25 for GWS 8.
That'd mean we essentially get Carlisle for pick 24 and a downgrade from 5-8. That'd be an amazing outcome.
However, I'm not convinced that's the real offer.

I love it. Ameet has a background in corporate law. I reckon at heart he's looking for a win/win, but if someone messes with him, he goes them. That's what's happened here. He's given Dodoro every chance to be reasonable. Now he's just going to do him over in the only way the bloke appears to understand.
It may be the case as it hasn't been tested. However the consequences of drafting someone that has just left your club in that fashion would be interesting. I would find it enthralling to watch, but it's probably not a good way to attract other players to your club.

Me too. Was banned days ago.
It seems you are not even allowed to reference the drug saga in any capacity or it is an instant ban. After seeing them carry on about what young player would ever come to the Saints if this is how we do business, I politely asked them if a young man and their family would be more concerned about us not parting with pick 5 for Carlisle or a systematic doping program that potentially endangers their health and well being.
Let's just say it was not that well received.

Carlton won't take him if he goes, the club will need to have brass balls encased in titanium to take a player against his will and pay for the privilege and Carlton are not this club despite how many people want them to be, Essendon will not pull the trigger because that will be monumentally stupid on their behalf given how Carlisle would have exited the club (ie "this club is @#$^ed, can't wait to get out etc", and if he leaves to the PSD it'd be a further dent to Essendon) Carlisle goes to the PSD he is 100% ours.
It won't come to this, though, in all likelihood. We'll hopefully improve a little bit (ie Essendon would want to keep 23 off load 25, it may be reversed instead) but it will depend on how much Essendon are going to crash from this week, rather heavily or just a flesh wound and they'll brush it off no probs. Just from looking at it, looks about 60/40 headed to mediation atm.
