Unless this pick swap with GWS is true, I'd be happy with that.

I personally think the swap with GWS would have been with the hawks picks.

Seriously, we can end this with trading JC and Jake Melk for pick 5. I will take that to the bank.

Both clubs meeting in middle. Standard negotiations for us to want what they think is overs, likewise with them

So the Carlisle camp not playing nice after all? Sounds like he's no better than Ryder.
Possibly, just possibly, you guys haven't been as fair and as awesome as you like to think you have been in the last few days, forcing him to take a harder stance.

What?
St Kilda didn't put an offer in until today. In the meantime, Hawthorn did which we accepted.

After you guys spent all day today meeting with him and convincing him and possibly even upping your contract offer.

You guys are going to massively overpay him contract wise and still give us the trade we wanted from the start. Love it. :)

As ****in ridiculous as they've been, as pathetic as it is that it takes another club to get interested for them to make an offer in good faith...

They have finally made an offer. About ****in time and in their favour, but that's what you do when you make an offer.

Ball back to us, I hope we just offer JC + 25 and that does it. Seems a fair compromise.

Some will say we're getting ripped off but I'm sure the same people were acknowledging we made out like bandits in the Melksham deal. That's trading, win some lose some. And pick 5 is a bloody nice loss.

In terms of the Carlisle camp, Saints admitted they spent all day with them. I would bet a lot that was an effective negotiation, ie pull ****in finger and put #5 up in some deal and we'll do our bit and shut Hawthorn down publicly. That's fair enough.

It's Essendon's turn now. Make the offer, I'm pretty sure they'll accept. If they don't they're the campaigners, but this is so obviously a highball offer that is designed for the obvious compromise. Let's do it and move on.

Essendon started shopping him around, not even entertaining three-party deals or the like from us saying 5 pick or nothing, then accepted one from another team.
Yeah, this is not what happened at all. There were no three party deals to entertain at that point.

Hawks came with interest. Then it was reported he was interested in hawks if saints-ess deal doesn't go ahead.

Ess will end up with pick 5, and you will get JC and 25. Win win

StKilda hoped to prolong the process until the death knock and have Essendon panic to take whatever they felt like offering which would have been way unders.

Is Essendon in contact with Carlise? Has Worsfold spoken with him? Outcome?

I think it's because our recruiters value pick 5 extremely high this year in the context of our current rebuild.

Doesn't make any sense though, this time next year if he's not your best player he's comfortably in your top 3. We've got a glaring need for a tall but it's at the other end, if someone that young and that good came along and wanted to come here I'd have a deal done for pick 4 at 10.01 on the first morning if the other club was willing. You're getting him for a song and you're still putting up am almighty fight.

Either your talent ID is horrendous (which it's not going on recent history), or you're list management guys have just completely shat the bed here, I don't think there's any other reasonable explanation

So from here, Dodo will probably offer Carlisle and 41, Bains will come back with Carlisle and 23, and then they'll settle at Carlisle and 25 for pick 5 at some stage next Thursday night.

So how about they decide not to give us all ulcers and get to the end bit tonight.

I believe we were hoping to have a trade where we could offer you a good first round pick as part of the deal, but we still get to keep 5 ...
This has not eventuated yet and may never eventuate ... so 5 reluctantly on the table.

Seriously, it's just drivel to come onto another teams board at this point and spout this crap. You'd wanna be doing it from the high ground and St Kildas stocks from this week are pretty low. FFS they didn't even make an offer until there was a threat from another club. Not exactly negotiating in good faith. It's pathetic.
