One more point that I'm sure will draw criticism from many here, but I'm hoping Watson keeps the Brownlow, not because he deserves to keep it, but because if Trent Cotchin is awarded it and goes down in history as a Bronlow medalist, any shred of honour or prestige that the Brownlow may have will be destroyed and the medal will become a joke...

Quite a dilemma there, since allowing Jab to keep it has the same effect.

James, We've Hird It All Before

On Sunday night, James Hird played the same tune he's been playing for three years now. He made like his main concern was the reputation of others. But, if you listened hard, it sounded like his real concern was protecting the good name of just one person: James Hird.

But the way Hird kept calling [the players] "sacrificial lambs" made you think whoa, slow down, Jimmy. The highest court in sport just found them guilty. Sacrificial lambs are, by definition, innocent.
Amen brother.

Do you feel the same concerning Robert Harvey's Brownlow win 1997? Chris Grant lost the medal because he broke the rules. I think Watson should be deBrownlowed as he broke the rules. This should result in Sam Mitchell and Trent Cotchin being awarded the Brownlow Medal as they finished runner-up. Corey McKernan is another example of a Brownlow winner being denied due to suspension in 1996. Given the MRP process now it's likely that both Grant and McKernan would be medalists. Corey would share his medal with Voss and Hird. I wonder if Shane Charter was an associate of Hird at that time. Hird introduced Charter to Shane Woewodin and he won the Brownlow in 2000.

All we have left is the boo.

Back in the day it was something like 'You m***** f***** c********, I hope your ***** dies in a flaming ****** and that pool of shit comes ***ing back at you like an explosion of *****ing, *********, ********, then your dog is dead on a Thursday.'

I sure miss the Glory Days.

Thinking back, not a lot was off limits in the crowd interactions back in the old days. Most people called a spade a spade and I reckon people had thicker skins back then. Yeah a lot of it was puerile and some unacceptable and downright racist but I reckon the ''characters'' that I remember as a young lad in the crowds have been lost to the PC nature of modern society. I still smile when I think back on some of the banter and one line rippers in the outer.

Give it away Tucky, you are scaring the children.......

Upon an umpire paying a very belated holding the ball decision...Did someone send you a telegram!?

In one of Andy McKay's first games after the controversy and allegation of him trying to dodge the draft to get to the club of his choice an opposition supporter suggested if this was the Vietnam war he would be heading for the hills...

After witnessing Peter Daicos take a short step in a contest a Carlton supporter commenting that whilst he thought it was nice that his Mum still let him sleep with the light on at 27 it was probably time to turn the light off and move out!!

Ahhh the good old days!! :)

I don't feel the same about any of those situations. My issue isn't how the medal ends up with Cotchin, it's just the mere fact that he will be a Brownlow medalist. That's the joke, that's the farce, that's the degrading of the medal.... Seriously, Trent ****en Cotchin, a Brownlow medalist???!!!! What next? Tyrone Vickery a hall of famer??!!!!

True, but I'd rather a drug cheat than a Richmond player, especially an overrated, hack, average-on- his-best-day, big game vanisher, shit truck, wanna be, pea heart, not a captain's arseh*le Richmond player...

Sorry coach. But I strenuously object*

Cotchin was one of the league's leading players that year. Is an absolute champion player? No. Was he very good that year? Yes.

Rather that than a cheat...

I strenuously object to your assertion that he was very good that year. I have no such recollection.
