I wish there had been more emphasis on how ******* cool The Knights of the Vale were; we spent too much Vale time seeing how fukt up Robyn and his Mum were, instead of learning about how powerful and baller they were as a military.

One other nugget of info to mention, and how they could have focused on how badass the Vale are:

Remember back in season 1 when you see how revered Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon were as warriors and commanders? Like how even Jamie is a bit cautious about taking on Ned? And how everyone talks up how awesome they were overthrowing the Mad King?

Well neither Ned nor Robert learned to fight in the North or Stormlands (where they're from). They were both wards of Jon Arryn, Lord of the Vale. And they were still living with him as young men when the war kicked off. So basically everything they knew about war and combat comes from their training in The Vale.

Why do we want so many twists? It gets boring if every time there's a 'twist' woah so cool. They get overdone and you end up expecting them.

It was good to see the 'good guys' actually win for once, having the Stark's lose and Ramsay win would just be boring, overdone and the battle would've been built up for nothing.

Pretty good episode.....can't say it's as good as Hardhome though. We all sorta knew that Little Finger's army would come in to save the day. Hardhome on the other hand caught me off guard.

How good is this gif...

Saw this just a second ago too...

A Song of Ice and Fire?

Nice moment but I'll be waiting for the opening credits scene next week to see if the Stark sigil gets updated at Winterfell.

And it would be too complicated with Bolton and the White Walkers to fight.

Yep.

And while there weren't any twists, the battle was still super intense. And there was a bit of character development going on amongst the depravity.

We now know Jon doesn't really care if he lives or dies, and has become fairly reckless (people change when they get resurrected, according to Beric Dondarrion, who should know)

Sansa/Jon alliance doesn't look to be all that strong really

Sansa is becoming incredibly ruthless and wants to rule outright - she isn't going to rely on anyone, she wants power for herself. That smirk when the Vale charged in makes me think she wasn't THAT upset about Jon's army getting weakened.

Dragons were sick - but I think it would've had more impact if they didn't hover; just flew across the entire fleet torching the entire ******* thing.

They need the fleet for themselves. I guess the dragons just killed the command ship or something.

Doing a rewatch.

Getting strong feminism vibes. Watching Sansa in the war room with the men and her face is saying "these guys should be asking me what I know about the guy and his forces"

Meanwhile Yara and Danaerys are keen to scissor and overthrow the entire seven kingdoms. If they get to the North and meet Queen Sansa preparing to fight the Others, fair chance they will be cool with her.

Queen of Thorns still runs the Reach, Mace or no.

And the Bad Pussy sisters are running Dorne.

And Arya is about to go on a murder spree of all the highborn lords and ladies she can find.

****en girl power yo

Fantastic episode. Unreal.

The ruthlessness of Sansa now is amazing. She almost turned from the dogs eating Ramsay's face and made herself watch, clearly enjoying the spectacle.

**** off and die you little mother ****ing campaigner.

But seriously Starks had a win so expect the Night King to sweep through winterfell next week.

Ok, I'm gunna post something now that isn't really a spoiler from the books. But it IS a spoiler from "The world of Ice and Fire" which is a GRRM sanctioned publication that gives heaps of background info on the world the books are set in. Also, HBO have made mini movies of a lot of this stuff (animated ones) that were on their website. So whilst it isn't spoiling the main series, and has no direct relevance to the main plot, it isn't something that has aired (or ever will) so I'll put it in tags.

I'm posting it because I think a lot of people here enjoy knowing some of the background lore about the various houses and what makes them unique etc.

I believe that's a fair warning, and like I said I'll tag it even though it isnt specifically spoiler stuff. If anyone enjoys it I'm happy to do some more - here's some historic info on some of the old Starks from the last 10,000 years:

The old Starks Kings were so sadistic it would make the Boltons blush. There was one instance where an army from Essos (made of Andals, the Starks are of the 'First Men' to settle Westeros about 10k years ago) landed in the North and started ransacking the place. The Stark King Theon the Hungry Wolf at the time routed them. Then he nailed their king to the front of his ship and sailed all the way to Andalos (in Essos) and burned down all their septs and villages, then he took the bodies home and lined the coast of the North with crucified Andals

And throughout the ancient history period, the Starks have led The North in war against the wildlings multiple times, and against practically ever major kingdom of Westeros. At one point a popular Targaryen King was assassinated by his own brother, so Cregan Stark took his army south, single handedly deposed a shitty King, took over KL, executed everyone involved in the assassination, picked a new King, then left.

Oh and they're the only major House still ethnically "First Men". Everyone else got assimilated by the Andals via being conquered. Not the Starks. And they've had Winterfell for 10,000 years, compared to say The Tyrells and Lannisters who have had theirs since the Targaryens arrived in Westeros about 1,000 years ago, at most.

But the whole thing of them being Wolves isnt just a spiritual/style thing either. They weren't as big on torture as the Boltons, but they are more savage than anyone else and love desecreating corpses, even eating them at times

Season 7 should open with Dany and Yara scissoring with Rekt looking glum and unhappy .

Will Dany and Yara just wait for the uncle and his ships to rock and then kill and take his ships? Or will they all leave for the seven kingdoms? of they leave before he arrives what's to stop him from taking the pyramids ?

More impact on Daenerys' ability to get across the Narrow Sea.
