Why is fox calling thursday pie night and why in a bye round is there a thursday game

Besides which

Adelaide 45
Collingwood 21
Richmond 6
Carlton 2
Geelong 52
Hawks 89
Terrible by the afl. Giving us back to back 6 day breaks and playing a team off the bye. No need for this game to be played on a Thursday night.

Adelaide vs North Melbourne - 23pts 45k
Collingwood vs Fremantle - 1pt 38k
Richmond vs Brisbane - 30pts 37k
Greater Western Sydney vs Carlton - 63pts 13k
St Kilda vs Geelong - 65pts 36k
Hawthorn vs Gold Coast - 70pts 49k

With the fallout from Friday night still raging it is easy to forget we play again in just a couple of days. Ziebell doesn't know if he's playing until this afternoon, absolute cack.

Yeah I thought the idea of having Thursday night games during the bye rounds was to make things fairer and reduce the short turnarounds. Surely they could have scheduled two teams that had the bye last week to play Thursday this week?

They've done the same thing to us over the years, 3 6 day breaks in a row then swans at SCG coming off the bye.

It's just dumb. We then have the bye - play the Eagles in WA and then get another 6 day break and play port - who get a 9 day break.

This is one of the best benefits of being a top 4 side from the season before.

In all seriousness, especially with the reduction of interchange, teams that have the stress of multiple 6 day breaks in a row may have a significant higher risk of soft tissue injuries. A season could quite easily be derailed as a result.

Adelaide def North Melbourne by 48 points - 47K
Collingwood def Fremantle by 6 points - 30K
Richmond def Brisbane by 20 points - 33K
Carlton def GWS by 12 points - 12K
Geelong def St Kilda by 112 points - 42K
Hawthorn def Gold Coast by 38 points - 15K

I notice Collingwood's lowest home attendance since they moved from Vic Park is 26K- got to think that's gonna get a shake tomorrow night given team's position, the forecast and opposition.

Adelaide vs North Melbourne 25 points - it's raining today at Adelaide apparently. A good chance for North to pull off an upset. But, Adelaide's ability to capitalise on opportunity in their forward 50 makes me tip them (as well as the fact that it is at home). For these reasons, we could see a big loss to North Melbourne if they don't clean up in front of goal (like they failed to do last week).

Collingwood vs Fremantle 17 points - I am going to go with this, (perhaps a bigger margin for Fremantle), but you just don't know with Collingwood. They could pants Fremantle after the week they had.

Richmond vs Brisbane 23 points - The last 2 times we played them here at the MCG it has been somewhat close, and since Richmond doesn't beat up teams often, I'll go with a close-ish game

Greater Western Sydney vs Carlton 105 points - if GWS can belt Hawthorn by 75 points and beat Sydney by 42 points at Spotless Stadium, I am not entirely confident that Carlton will avoid a bad loss. The bye could help them, but we'll just have to wait and see.

St Kilda vs Geelong 15 points. I notice a trend. Geelong do well against the top teams, but struggle against lower-placed teams that are willing and able to push them. To me, St Kilda is a team that can push another side better than many of the other lower-placed sides, so I wouldn't count out an upset loss for Geelong here. But, I'll still go with Geelong

Hawthorn vs Gold Coast 7 points. Gold Coast are starting to gain some players, and Hawthorn have not been that impressive at Tasmania this year. I think that if Gold Coast get more players back, they could push the Hawks. But, I don't think they'll upset them.

Yes our smallest crowd at the MCG that Collingwood have a drawn is 26k against freo at the MCG and that was in 1999! Think that Collingwood will draw about 25k.
