USA Today's Jarrett Bell reports the Chargers and holdout first-round DE Joey Bosa have reopened contract talks this week after not speaking for the better part of two weeks.

However, Bell reports the two sides are "holding ground on their positions." To recap, the two sides aren't quarreling over a bunch of money; it's already been determined Bosa will receive a four-year, $26 million deal with a $17 million signing bonus. The issue is the Chargers want to defer some of the signing bonus money to next March and not pay it up front. Bosa's camp wants it paid immediately. Offset language is the other hold-up. This drama has no end in sight.

Harrison calls Goodell a “crook,” says he’d like public to see interview

Getty ImagesFollowing Thursday night’s preseason game, Steelers linebacker James Harrison addressed his decision to agree to an interview with the NFL regarding the Al-Jazeera report that accused Harrison of using performance-enhancing drugs.
Earlier in the day Harrison told NFL Network that the NFL had no credible evidence against him but he agreed to the interview because getting suspended for not cooperating, as the NFL had threatened to do to Harrison and other players named in the report, would hurt his team.
“If it goes to a conduct detrimental [situation] it goes to the hands of that crook, I mean Roger Goodell, [and] he can do whatever he wants,” Harrison said Thursday night. “That’s just the bargaining agreement that the players signed.”
Harrison and Goodell, the NFL Commissioner, are longtime non-friends. Earlier this summer, Harrison said he’d agree to an interview if Goodell came to Harrison’s house.
As for the interview itself, Harrison proposed having media on hand for transparency reasons — or even broadcasting it live.
“Whatever evidence they think they have, or reason for questioning me, is out of my control,” Harrison said. “I really don’t know.
“I wouldn’t have a problem with it being filmed live. I’ve been prosecuted and persecuted, you know, publicly in the media by them for something I didn’t do. So I don’t see why we couldn’t have the media there and do a live interview. They can ask whatever questions they want and I can answer them.
“You all can see whatever evidence they say they got.”

I have personally met J Harrison since I often do business down in Pittspuke and unfortunately (because I can't stand Pittspuke players ;) ), our paths happened to cross in town. He may be a nice guy, he may be an incredible player--but if anyone thinks he doesn't and hasn't taken steroids you are dreaming.

Now, he is NOT the only one in the NFL to take 'roids and I would wager that on any given team at least 55-70% are on some sort of performance enhancing substances (excepting the Cleveland Browns who given their record the last 25 years clearly do not have a single soul on anything other than weed, coke or booze).

Fact of the matter is the Squeelers in the 70's (much like my beloved Indians baseball team in the 90's) were waaaay ahead of their time in using performance enhancing drugs and establishing a covert "system". (the Indians did likewise in the 90's in baseball)

To think the Squeelers have not continued such ways is silly.

They may not have a damn thing on him as it relates to AL Jazeera (and I suspect they do not) but the dude is a user and anyone that has seen him in person can readily tell that. Doesn't make him a bad guy or the only one in the NFL. He is one of many...but I have zero sympathy for his whining here--and it is a tired act at this point.

Do the damn interview and shut up and play out your career and be glad you never got "officially" popped.

LeVeon Suspension reduced to 3 games.
As part of the settlement that reduced his four-game suspension to three games, Le'Veon Bell was kept in Stage 2 of the NFL's substance abuse program.

This is a quietly big deal for Bell in Dynasty leagues. His next violation would not cost him ten games or a full season, which would've been the case had Bell advanced to Stage 3 of the substance abuse program. Instead, any future failed or missed test would only result in another four-game suspension. Expect to see Bell resume going in the late first round of fantasy drafts. DeAngelo Williams will only open the season starting three games, not four.

Is it wrong to be annoyed by refs ina pre season game. Absolutely awful.

Dak has looked good. One bad throw but otherwise lookibg smooth.
Romo had some zip on his passes and looked good on his two drives.

Morris has been an awesome pick up. He'll be splitting reps with Zeke all season. Our running game looks like it will be immense.

Our D is still crap.

Is that a list of the 4 best QB's of all-time?
Just highlights again why Marino is greatest ever. That was in the 80s when the passing rules were not as weak as they are now. Manning in the 00's, then two meh QBs in the 10's.

Manning still didn't have the luxuries of passers in todays game. That was still before 2004

And he did at least throw for slightly more than Marino

Marino would've thrown for 32,000 in today's game. He is the Bradman of QBs. Manning was great, but not as good as Marino.

Was Marino that good after 25 years old? Take out '84 maybe '86, was he that much better than other QBs?
