I bumped into Merrick Watts just after the 2010 drawn GF, when walking home from the game with my daughter. I should say I literally stumbled into him, as I had broken my foot during the game (a long story), and I was seething about the draw. I mumbled something about being sick of Collingwood and never wanting to see them again. He smiled. I got over it. Very quickly, as it turned out.

We use to hire him to host events where I work and always thought he was great. Was really good at thinking on his feet and could flex his style to suit different groups.

Yes I sat next to him Anzac Day this year and confirm he is a pies man.. quite vocal supporter to
