If he was good enough he would have been getting games. With Simpson declining and Byrne being injured we've been screaming out for a small defender type for ages.

Other than Jaksch, Bolton has shown a willingness to give blokes a go. Clearly he doesn't rate Buckley much and that doesn't surprise me.

I was impressed by Buckley in his debut but I've hardly seen any development from him since.

We've played 39 players this year...39!!

The MC has given a chance to just about anyone that's eligible, unfortunately, you just have to take your chance when you get it.

Bucks wasn't getting the pill much in the seconds and that's what's disappointing to me. It's why I'd keep Boeky and Graham on the list and why I think Buckley is the one of the first to go.

Boeky and Graham, if kept, have one more year to cement a spot but by the same token you know if they aren't getting the chance they're certainly going to work hard to get one.

Is Trengove worth pick 37? That's the compensation pick we're looking at for Casboult.

I'd say no, not for a filler.

Not disputing that.

If Casboult leaves though, we either play Orange or Phillips in the side each week, short term of course until Harry fills out.

Or we look at someone else externally

Port supporters would rather John Butcher in the forward line than Trengove.

Hmm seems they don't care if he walks. I guess he has been good when I watch Port but I don't watch them often.

No to Trengove please. Will cost us any compo from Casboult and is barely an upgrade in some respects and not an upgrade in others.

If we are going to force Levi out, it must be for a much better player, not someone about par.

Phillips back to full fitness might be an option.
For ruckwork yes, neither Phillips or Kreuzer are forwards by any measure other than being in the front half of the ground.

Levi won't be "forced" out. He'll leave because he will receive an offer more than we're willing to match. Particularly the length of the contract (rumoured to be 4 years)

I can't see any benefit of effectively trading Casboult for Trengrove. Trengrove's best work is down back. We don't need another KPD.

It will, however, release Jones from defence finally.

Not ideal during a rebuild.

2 and 37 isn't ideal either. 2 on an 18 year old or on Kelly? What's better for our rebuild?

If Levi leaves and we don't touch Trengrove then we may have 2 picks in the 30s. Gibbs is our only currency

In that regard I'm not concerned about scoring. We struggle to kick 12 goals a game, with Casboult.

Our attack will only improve with variety - Lebois and Pickett plus Rayner or Stephenson with pick 2.

If Trengove shows a willingness to come to us, why would we offer Levi a reasonable contract?

We would low-ball him and be happy if he stayed, knowing that another club would offer fair value for him. By doing so, we are effectively forcing him to leave for a reasonable contract.

If Casboult is in fact offered a 4 year contract he will be band 3 compo imo. I know this has been done to death on here but band 3 = top 30%, most players get given 2 year contracts. If we are only going to get a third round pick I expect we will offer him enough to keep him.

Would trade Buckley for Balic in a heartbeat.

Love Dyl's attitude, but he's so far down the pecking order at Carlton it's in his best interests to seek other opportunities.

Freo could probably find a spot for him in their forward line as a replacement for Ballantyne. Would also allow them to use Walters in the middle a bit more often.

Must.... Not..... Bite.... Ahhhh **** it!

I've been watching Dylan's disposal skills over the journey and I would say he's been actively seeking out other teams for years....

#toosoon?

Lol nope.

One of the worst players to pull on the guernsey in my lifetime.

Seems like a top bloke but can't football for shit.

If he wasn't an elite sprinter (or more importantly, if he wasn't son of J), would never have got an AFL game.

Good luck to him in his future endeavours

Can't see lebois making the grade! Can't see him making vfl grade

Are you kidding me? The only reason he has underwhelmed is the quad injury....

I'd be shocked if we didn't retain him
