Mostly agree, however I would note that judging on wins and losses is not what should dictate whether he gets an extension or not next year.

Injuries, the types of losses we have and the style of footy we play should all be taken into account.
Yes, together with the capacity of the new talent to replace the old.

He is a terrific football person:) like all EFC supporters. of course . Terrific persons make terrific coaches:(

Even handed opinion from an outsider - stick with Woosha, the stability of a solid few years will do wonders for your club.

He's a class act - he'll exit gracefully when the time comes.
I don't need results now. Can see the football he has us playing and can see clearly where we are going. He'll stay on.

Totally agree with this. Worsfold is the type that if he feels he's no longer the best man for the job or doesn't have the passion etc would leave himself. Plus I reckon he's got us on a pretty good path at the moment.

There's not much negativity towards Worsfold at all. His approval rating earlier in the year was the highest of all coaches. Greater expectations will come in future years but so far so good.

Amazing really. I said at the start of the year to a few workmates that I think we can finish between 6-12 and they laughed at the thought of us playing finals. "How can a team go from the spoon to finals, fit all the old players back with some newbies, who will we replace in the 8 yada yada"...

If we win next week, this year has been an astounding success IMO. Even a loss and the year will be considered better than a pass in my eyes.

Imo some teams in the 8 wouldn't want to face Essendon we have shown multiple times through out the year that our best is very good.

Without the Brisbane and Sydney fade outs I would be very happy with this season but considering those loses and the fact that its very much in our own hands then making the finals will now be the pass mark.

I don't care what happens this year, considering where we sit right now if he dosen't win a final next year he should go.
I guess i'm ignorant when it comes to assessing coaches. I would have thought that you could assess the quality of a coach on various measures that take into account the variables that are outside anyone's control? If we get a ton of injuries next year then we probably wont make finals for starters. If drafted players stall in their development is that Wooshas fault too?
The only reason i can see for getting rid of a proven good quality coach is if the club suffers a period of sustained failure that leads to a really negative mood that cant be shifted and is causing friction between players. Then a club can benefit from a breath of fresh air.

Woosha has turned a mediocre forwardline into the second best forwardline IN THE LEAGUE. We went from one of the most inefficient forwardlines to the 2nd most efficient, thanks to our attacking ball movement. At West Coast, Woosha had one of the best midfields in the modern era. Our midfield needs improvement and seeing what we've done to what was the worst forwardline in the league, he absolutely will get every opportunity.

Under his watch, we've discovered the true talent of Fantasia, Walla and McKenna while finally providing Daniher the support he needs in the forwardline. Our highest goal kicker used to be in the mid 30s. Now we have 4 players that have kicked 33+.

If anyone can actually remember, Fantasia didn't play as a small forward. Walla also didn't except for our last game against Carlton. In fact, many on here didn't want Walla playing forward this year. He also stuck by Stewart and Hooker when people wanted them out of the forwardline.

Sure he has some flaws, but the positive outweighs the negative by a fair margin so far.

I'm pretty excited to see what he can do with another preseason, especially with our midfield. Making a call now is way too premature

To be fair he did it by bringing in 5 new players not by changing the gamestyle.
Our change in gamestyle definitely did contribute to our scoring. We used to move the ball slowly, which allowed opposition defenders to set up well. Now, we attack more directly, giving us more options going forward. Yes the personnel that he brought in makes a difference, but our ball movement from defence helps us make the most of our chances.

Just caught Bolton's interview on talking footy, one bit stood out when he said the future of footy is being able to adapt and change game style within games.

I think we can safely say we are well on our way to achieving this and we are one of only 4 I've noticed doing it. We need to sign him on for the long term - his age and time in the game means nothing as he had a considerable coaching hiatus and came back on his terms clearly passionate as ever with the task of getting this group back from where they've been.

Like that we're potentially shuffling and making some additions to the coaching box over the Summer, we need stability in the head role and he is in the top 3 coaches in the AFL imo. 3 years.

I actually think there will changes in the coaches box over the summer. Don't think McKenna will go but will get a new role he's been in charge of the midfield and we haven been poor in that area all year.
