Yep, they are your expectations.

I'm confident the club sees things differently.

They aren't holding Woosha accountable for past failures.

Is it so hard to say that he was around a pass mark this year but will need to improve the side again next year to get an extension?
 
I like Worsfold but man he's match day coaching sux.

No wonder players cant get motivated have a listen to his pre game speech before the game was boring as **** nothing motivating in that at all. When Buddy went on that mini rampage in the 2nd alarm bells should have been going off in the box. I mean how hard is it for him to go man on man or ultra defense mode for 5-10 mins to steam the bleeding? but nope does nothing just sits in the box like a stunned mullet hoping it will click.

To start by picking up on a theme in one of your earlier posts, this team is very different to that which last played in the finals. I don't think that it's accurate to say that the team hasn't changed or that we are still relying on the same players. I think what has happened is that the improvements made in the forward line and other really positive changes have been offset by the degeneration of the midfield and the reality that the kids who have replaced high quality players we lost are still growing into their roles.

I'm critical of the way we managed this year but I don't believe that it was Worsfold's decision (there were other non-football issues at play). When I think about it, the integration of McKenna, Gleeson and Stewart was a big part of salvaging some of this year as a development year.

The reality of our situation is that with a midfielder loaded with ?s and a list which now becomes significantly younger we need to manage ourselves accordingly.

I've just said that I'd wait to see what next year looks like before making a decision but having thought about itmore, I now think that we should give him an extra year. Take the pressure off and allow the list to grow. I don't expect the team to go backwards but it might.

We don't need another 12 months of selecting sides to play finals. It seems that every other club trusts it's kids. It's time we do too.
 
The 2017 team is drastically different to the 2014 team, more so than the 2014 team was different from the 2011 team I think.

Yeah he should have flooded the backline and made it even easier for the Sydney mids to get the ball.

These two showed our deficiencies in the midfield however Myers' VFL games were better then anyone not getting a game, he just couldn't find his feet at the afl level. Maybe Langford should have been provided more opportunity but i think he's development required playing maximum minutes in the position he's going to play in the future and wouldn't have received enough minutes in that position at AFL.
As for colyer you may be right but maybe inside the four walls both met there defensive kpi's. Reminiscing on the season you could argue that McGrath should of played colyers position and replaced colyer with another defender which still would have showed our deficiencies for a medium/small defender.

It doesn't really matter through does it? Beyond illustrating just how dire our recruitment and development was over the 2000 to 2005 period (so guys that would be 200+ gamers now and have been through all that together as a core group).

It's great that we went in quite young on Saturday, Howlett or Bird in for Begley in particular is a move that I wouldn't have really begrudged the coaching staff making given what they were up against but I think all those guys playing in their first final will benefit enormously from it.
 
40 tackles in the first quarter and always seeming to have the plus one. 10 tackles, not running ahead of the ball when got it so players fumbled and butchered the ball under pressure, and not running to get enough men at each contest. The first quarter showed what the coaches wanted to do and it stood up well. The players couldn't sustain it. Not sure how that is the coaches fault.

I am also heartened that he is looking to fix the inside mids internally. Now is not the time to throw the kitchen sink at a trade. In two years time we'll probably have some quality players like Redman, Francis and Ridley ready to hit their straps and not getting a game. They'll have good currency. Go to the draft this year and next. Keep front loading contracts every time we don't get a FA. Hopefully we get a quality one this year or next. Then if we still have gaping holes on our list in 2019 throw the kitchen sink at a trade.
 
What Hardwick said on Talking footy is what I want Woosha to do. we have the quick smalls to apply that insane forward pressure like Richmond do in Fantasia,Walla,Green,Coyler admitted that "attack is not the best form of defence" all they did was just focus on smashing the defensive part of the game over the summer. If it means we have to sacrifice our attacking side a little to get that insane pressure then so be it.

It would not be totally suprising for us to miss finals next year. We think there is plenty of potential in kids like Parish Langford Mutch etc but it could easily be a small step back to transition them into our starting midfield but would be worth it long term
 
Can anyone work out our rough average age and average games played of our list as at round 1 next year compared to Saturday evening? You would have to assume the ages of the draftees and perhaps a free agent or two but could get a fair idea. Lore? Seems like your sorta area :)
