But what happen happens if we off 7 and they accept?

We have paid overs and then we are stuck with him.
They can't just accept it. Stringer needs to accept it as well.

You just need the Carlisle situation where he says he's prepared to go to another club if his preference club falls through.

You just need some heat applied to the situation

Why the hell are we still laughing at North? We were in for the same player and missed out on our target too..

Just seems silly to laugh at them.
Probably because they are being reported to have offered him $1.5mil PA (doubt we went that hard), after initially offering him a whopping 9 year deal and because they also went super-hard at Dusty and missed him as well, and because it's all been played out so publicly for them.

Then there's the way their supporter group have been carrying on so floggishly on here, not only on their own board re this, but also on the public boards (way more than those who support the other teams that were meant to be in the hunt).

Waldy suggests we're after Hall. Although he's older and a bit hot/cold (and a bit soft), he might be our only alternative.

Is it as simple as Hall & 19 -> Pick 8 (personally, i wouldn't)
Hall & 2 & 33 -> 7 & 8 & Lonie
Hall & Player* -> 8 and 2018 2nd

*Fiorini, Miller, Saad, Swallow, KK, Ah Chee, Ainsworth, Brodfie, Scrimshaw, Leslie, Martin - plenty of young talent on their list

I'd rate Hall as work Pick 15-25ish
I dont mind option 2 but id be happy with hall + 10ish for 7. Means we can still draft a decent player with that pick.

yeah thats what i was expecting ... perhaps we can influence it a bit by doing to Essendon what Hawthorn did to us for Jake....

I'd rather not get involved with Essendon at all.

They will probably ditch the Stringer deal because they think we are willing to trade Billings lol

We should be in Gaff's ear already about coming over as a free agent next year, would be a waste to use a first rounder on him now when he could come for free in 12 months.
Think we've said that about all the big fish we've been rumoured to be after recently.
Just gives their original club more time to convince them to stay. Like Fyfe ,Dusty ,Kelly.
Most of the times if you want to pry a good player away from another club you've just gotta pay overs .

Thought TR wasn't on until 11.00 am.
He met with Dodoro about the prospect of going to Essendon. They were all on TR today too.

I think he'll be meeting with most Vic clubs that can afford his salary.
I'm not a big fan of the prospect but all signs are pointing to us seriously throwing our hat in the ring.

I would actually prefer to get Hall over Gaff. Actually has good run and carry and has got very neat disposal.

We could do worse and offer them pick 8 for Hall and Leslie/KK if we cant land Stringer.

Remember we have lost 3 of our most experienced leaders this season is Roo, Joey and Dempster.

Ideal trade scenario for me would be:

Pick 8 for Stringer and 2nd rounder back

Rockliff and Trengrove (experienced and the positions we need more quality) plus we need to use up our salary cap give them all 3 years and front load it.

Keep pick 7

Other scenario would be:

Pick 8 for Hall/KK

Trengrove for Salary cap and fits in the depleted back line depth and 2nd ruck option plus salary cap

Keep pick 7

Has not met with any other club as yet.

Not making a decision for a couple of weeks.

Seemed likely he would go to Essendon with that fat slug Dildoro gloating like he was the cat that swallowed the canery.

Good luck Bulldogs dealing with that arseh*le

Stringer hinting he might be off to Essendon this morning. Not a great sign but as he and his manager both said, there's still a lot of water to go under the bridge. Bombers are extremely wary of the baggage he might be bringing to them, as we would be.

How can the Bombers have any sort of Salary cap space, unless they used jacked up compensation payments to their drugged players to offset lower Football salaries. Oh yeah... they probably did.

I agree with you - I hope we don't seriously entertain it. Clubs will be doing their due diligence and asking questions surrounding his exit from the Dogs. I don't know the extent of his off field issues (but understand he has them). It will be a decision the club will bitterly regret if he causes any distractions.

They'll have heaps of space - Watson, Kelly, Stanton, Hocking, Bird…

Despite his off field issues, people are criminally underrating what Stringer is capable of. He can be the difference if he gets his shit together.

Spot on tore us a new one when we played them he was the difference & he still fits in our age group a must get if available.
