Trade week is a scary period: I just cant see why Adelaide would even consider releasing Sloane. They look like losing Lever & Cameron from their starting 22 to add Sloane would be too much unless they are assured of getting Gibbs.

We are not close enough to a complete list to start trading top 10 picks for a 28 year old. If they give up Dunstan it would be a scary list management decision IMO.

Why did lever choose Melbourne over us?
Maybe cause we weren't into him

Seems like bit of a cuck tbh.

His GF's mother works with my mother at Northern Health and she can't wait for them to get married.

Genuinely have no clue where he goes but Collingwood very interested.

Agreed. That would set our stall to be in flag contention in the next couple of years, which feels unlikely.

That said, he's pretty much exactly Jack Steven's age, and he's played more games than anyone on our list except Gilbo. Maybe he'd just come in to give leadership? He could walk straight into the captaincy and hopefully set some serious standards for the younger players. He could retire in a couple of years without a flag but having built serious foundations into the group.

Lol sloaney not coming ffs

But
If he did its pick 8 and thats it
Way over rating players and pick worth on here
He can leave next year for a pick in the teens as compo or leave now and get the crows pick 8

Not worth two picks, nor worth future picks either
Pick 8 or nothing imo

While there are concerns about Sloane's age, we shouldn't put limitations on the group purely because we don't think our age profile is ready to contend.
Richmond and the Bulldogs have both shown what is capable with the combination of luck, a solid game plan and strong player buy-in.
If the club think Sloane's a good fit for the next 4+ years I'll back them.
Why not us?

Indeed. It's always only speculation until it happens I guess but I'm pretty excited about the prospect. I also think if Sloane does request to come to Moorabbin the saints have to try and get lever in the same deal.
Whether or not we'd have the coin is the other question. I assume we would, given the cap increase. Getting both together could work out marginally cheaper than getting both individually - whether or not we want Lever is the other question,

More I need to see some big improvements on match day.
And I was referring to Richo's way of looking at negatives in young players (Acres) instead of playing them to their strengths.
:rolleyes:The irony of the supporter being critical of the guy because he isn't the perfect coach, because apparently he is critical of players not being perfect players. It's a good thing we're the perfect club, with the perfect board, perfect staff, perfect members, perfect supporters and a perfect record. A lot of glass houses here!

You obviously have no interest in getting because only pick is laughable

Yes every player should play in their best position. That comment is hilarious. We would have 12 on ballers at one. Lonie plays better on the ball as well as does most of the side. I bet you also complain about development.

I hear this so often it has really become a bit of a joke, try trading one in and watch what clubs demand for it.

What I do know is that genuine stars rarely change clubs.

Every star was originally taken with a draft pick.

Draw your own conclusions on the most likely way of bringing a star player to the club.

Every hack is taken in the draft.

urghhh Goss ... biggest flog in WA media .. hope he is right with this though... let the Dees waste days and days bashing their head against the wall trying to deal with Vozzo

Yeah why would you let Watts go for not being hard enough and then pay up for Gaff? Also, how could they trade for Lever & Gaff?

If sloane is truly on the table id give 7+8.

Sloane, Stuv, Dunstan, Steele, Gresham plus billings is pretty bloody exciting. Hopefully armo gets right as well
Does Seb make way for Rory?
I don't mind Richo, but I heard on SEN that that's what Richmond focused on in the past year. Instead of working on their weaknesses, working on exploiting their strengths. I really felt like that helped them approach this year's finals series in a far more positive way than the Saints did when we made it. Obviously, that was Ross rather than Richo. Lots of other things helped the Tiges, a focus on aggression for example.
In defence of Richo though, perhaps when players are young it's the best time to work on weaknesses in their game. Hard to work on that after being in the system for a few years.
Another mindset Richmond changed this year at was to really enjoy themselves.

I often wonder how much we enjoy playing the way we do. Especially when we just roll over so often when a team gets a run on against us. Like it's all too hard, not fun or worth the effort.

The Sloane chat makes me nervous.

Guy is a gun and one first rounder = yes but any more and I would be saying no based on his age profile.

If we could somehow get Gaff and Sloane in this trade period though and still have our first rounder next year, I'd be happy.

at times this year it really looked like the players were enjoying it as much as we were.

My apologies mate. Funny how some supporters take any sort of criticism towards the club so personally.
Funny that the club itself identified areas of improvement needed from coaching panel after this season and are going towards rectifying it.
I'll make sure I only mention positives from now on.

giving up dunstan would be madness ... i dont think thats on the cards we have put the time and effort into developing him (yes its been up and down) we wouldnt trade him out now he is getting some traction
