In regards to the huge shocking reveal....

From all the different sources I've read, the finale boils down to this. As for the "huge reveal", two different camps are emerging:

• Rey joins with Snoke, after believing Luke killed her parents. Kylo, now as Ben Solo, reunites with his Uncle Luke to stop her and Snoke. In other words, the hero and villain switch roles. Judging from all the snippets, this might be quite likely.

Or, the second 'rumour'

• Snoke and Luke were actually in league with each other all along, believing order was needed to stop the galaxy from falling into civil war again. In other words, Luke is the real villain. This, although an exciting twist, would need a ton of explanation. And, oh boy, the ibternet would go into a meltdown far greater than TFA if Luke was evil. You'd certainly open a lucrative door for comics, games, books, etc explaining his turn to the dark side and why he turned away from the Jedi.

Kylo Ren is a bigger disappointment than Jar Jar Binks. Hopefully he is killed off early and Luke gets all the screen time.

I thought one of the great things about Ren is he's a complete wannabe with (grand)daddy issues. My grandfather as a bad ass so I want to be like him but in reality I'm a bitch is how I saw it. Look at the tantys he has.

Kylo as a character has a very high ceilings for character and story arc exploration. There's great depth to him. Whereas Finn and even Rey they have kind of ruined or pigeon-holed them, limited scope.

I don't see Rey turning dark nor do I see Luke being evil. The inevitability, for me, is Rey discovering that Luke is her father.

A non-spoiler review I thought sounded legit up until it was discovered that the poster was caught saying before that they'd seen the movie and hated it, making different claims about what happened. He said that, "I was relaying info from secondhand sources who duped me so I’d be surprised when I saw it. That’s why I deleted that." He is adamant that in two weeks time he's gonna say, "I told you so!" Out of all the "leaks" and comments in response to questions I have read thus far, it's the best I've read. Even if it's fake, props to the creativity.

"I got to see a screening this week and I want to share my thoughts. Do not ask for spoilers because I won’t give them.
I’ll start this off by saying I really enjoyed The Force Awakens and the non stop ride it was from start to finish. The Last Jedi could not have been more of a different kind of film.

Though there are tons of battle scenes, including some on exotic planets not even the previews have shown, The Last Jedi has a slow burn feel to it, and I absolutely loved it. At points it feels like watching four different movies simultaneously, each with a mystery of their own to solve, Finn and Rose’s James Bond like adventure, Poe deciding he’s done taking orders from diplomats and taking the war into his own hands playing a game of cat and mouse with General Hux, Kylo Ren struggling to please Supreme Leader Snoke, and Rey slowly unraveling the mysterious conditions that lead to Ben Solo becoming Kylo Ren.

The cinematography is incredible, and as you likely expected with Johnson at the helm there are plenty of high speed shots to real time transitions to truly capture the power of the force. Each character seemingly faces a test before this movie ends that winds up changing them. Each of these tests feel organic to the story and character arcs laid down in The Force Awakens. It was especially satisfying learning what makes Supreme Leader Snoke tick.
This film is an emotional roller coaster ride. There are several light hearted genuinely funny moments in the first two acts or so.

There are a few scenes that are legitimately terrifying (I️ will have nightmares about The Knights of Ren) but the back half of this movie takes some dark turns, and when the big picture is clear about the events that lead to The Force Awakens it is genuinely heartbreaking. The best performance in this film is Adam Driver. I don’t want to spoil too much but the emotional transformation he undergoes in this film is absolutely incredible. Tran was a pleasant surprise and had great chemistry with Boyega, and the one liners back and forth between the two were hysterical. Mark Hammil quite possibly gave the best live action performance of his career and his portrayal of a tortured Luke Skywalker will likely be one of the highest praises this film receives. I absolutely loved Daisy Ridley in The Force Awakens, but I felt her performance in The Last Jedi fell a bit short.

It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as good as The Force Awakens. I can’t think of a bad performance although some of the supporting characters are a bit one dimensional. Carrie Fisher will steal the show in the end though, and I can promise you there won’t be a single dry eye in the theater during one part in particular.

Other random thoughts:

I continuously am amazed at the personality Star Wars gives their droids. They’re like characters with little arcs of their own.
The Porgs are annoyingly cute, and never over the top. But there is a part they’ll haunt your dreams.
The lore of the Jedi as told by some amphibious deep voiced Scottish accented frogs dressed as nuns was both hilarious and intriguing. I hope this ties in to Johnson’s new trilogy.

The planets in this film were so unique. The world building was reminiscent of the Star Wars prequels. I loved that the movie actually made you feel there was this massive war on a galactic scale being waged. You really got a sense of the stakes and the many battles being fought at a given time. That’s really all I can say without spoils. Though it’s still fresh in my mind and people tend to have recencey bias, I do believe this is my favorite Star Wars movie ever.
As a film itself I’d say 9.5/10. Rian Johnson did a helluva job taking the universe we’ve all grown to love, graying the difference between right and wrong, hero and villain, and adding layers to what has traditionally been a battle of black vs white. Do yourselves a favor and don’t read any spoilers. There are lots of twists and turns that haven’t even been hinted at in the marketing."

However, it doesn't mean that Anakin couldn't have given his powers to two halves to achieve balance. A clue could be how Obi-Wan seems to know exactly who she is and what her purpose is. I assume this balance is achieved by destroying Snoke. Snoke is probably the one that caused the imbalance in the first place.

Could also be that Rey's power comes from Palpatine's or Kenobi's (the alleged leaker said her lineage isn't random). Luke shouldn't be scared if she is the light half of Anakin, but if she is of Palpy's blood, that makes sense.

Yeah, forgot about what she said. She also awkwardly answered, "Just sit tight on that question." when she was asked if she's a Kenobi.

That description above really reminds me of Looper. Exciting scene to exciting scene, to the next, then back, you the viewer try and figure it all out and puzzle it, but can easily be implemented smoothly in a Star Wars film.

Especially when he says it felt like watching four movie plots at once...

Which essentially means, depth and exploration, of course done too scattered could annoy people as well. But that sounds amazing based on that description.

I think it is. I was reading this guys comments on reddit and if it's not legit then he is a master class liar. So far I've been able to tell when someone's lying or not, but the stuff this guy's saying sounds too good to be fan made. Apparently there is no one liner plot twist in TLJ, instead the twist is incremental as the further the movie goes, the more we learn about how Ben became Kylo, and that no one has guessed the full story behind it because the clues were not given to the audience to figure it out, much in the same way you weren't given any clues about Vader being Luke's father, because it wasn't planned. I think they let Rian do his thing.
