Brother. Goes to PBC.
That's cool. He's another one to keep an eye on for 2019 and I assume he'll make the switch to the Palmy Lions this year. Considering J.Joyce is contracted until 2020, they could become the second brother combination to play for the Suns after the Abletts.
I think he said 2-3 in the next couple of years , hard to gauge this far out who will make it , cause if you ask me when Jesse Joyce was coming through the ranks if he would make it i would of said no , but here he is in the Suns best 22 . Brayden Crossley's brother Ashton is coming through and now training with academy , there is one or 2 standouts playing 16's atm , and one really good one playing for Coolangatta atm.
I found the article from a few days ago that states Palm Beach's "Caleb Graham, Dirk Koenen and Corey Beaman have been touted as potential draftees for 2018". So I suppose it's possible we could see another 2-3 Palm Beach products end up on the Suns list later this year.

I thought Beaman played for Burleigh , must have transferred over to Palmy . Think the club might of relocated Koenan this year , good to see them at Palmy although I don’t think they will play much there.

Definitely a Burleigh junior (as was B.Crossley & J.Dawson) but Beaman attends PBC High and I think he'll make the switch to the Palmy Lions QAFL team this year. I know Caleb Graham made the move from Cairns last year so he will have spent two years in the PBC developmental system by the time he's draft eligible.

Koenen played a few games for PBC in the QAFL last year so he's been on the Gold Coast for at least a year now. I'd say he made the move from Townsville when Graham moved down at the end of 2016. Here's some more info on the three of them:

Caleb Graham (192cm)
Defender - Cairns/Palm Beach Currumbin

Like Jack Bowes before him, hails from Cairns and has moved to the Gold Coast to give footy his best shot. Graham is a key defender, who can also swing forward, is a strong contested mark and has the great combination of a long reach and good closing speed.

Dirk Koenen (195cm)
Defender - Townsville/Palm Beach Currumbin

Has had a few injuries, but at 195cm is a key defender who has already proved adept at intercept marking and is well skilled with ball in hand. Koenen comes from a sporting family with his older sisters Breanna (Lions AFLW team) and Cara (Sunshine Coast Lightning netball) already playing in national competitions.

Cory Beaman (184cm)
Midfield/forward - Burleigh/Palm Beach Currumbin

Beaman is a former under-15 All Australian with a bit of X-factor. Has dynamic speed and a brilliant vertical leap from his track and field background and can swing between forward and midfield. Just needs to work on his endurance over the next 12 months.

I was really impressed by Caleb playing NEAFL. What a talent. Just needs to build his frame. A bit of Lever in him.

I didn't see much but, from what I saw, I was very impressed with Graham. I think he swung forward one game and looked just as capable as he did in the backline and was surprised to learn he was playing as an underager last year. I think it's fair to say he has a big future in front of him and, along with Bailey Scott, is the most likely to be drafted out of the Suns academy this year.

Yes, he looked as good forward as in backline. Great marks. It would not surprise if he is top 20 pick.

He stood around the 192cm mark last year and you'd have to assume he could possibly grow a few more cms so he's going to end up being a good size. He was pretty skinny from what I remember so they may want him to work on putting on some muscle this off season.

I'd be picking Graham in front of all others based on QAFL finals last year. Key forward / defender, so is versatile , played and beat Barry Hall in finals last year as a defender - but in other matches has kicked bags for the PBC Lions. Rate him well ahead of Bailey Scott who is a tidy midfielder.
Regards the other PBC school choices mentioned - Konenen is a possibility but I don't rate Beaman at all.
Corey Joyce should be a walk up start the following year.

Interesting insight. Corey Joyce must be special.

Do you think Ashton Crossley is a chance to be drafted next year?

Not draft eligible next year - but year after.
That said - he's a much different player to his brother - not as tall so has to play more general roles. He's more mobile than Brayden but doesn't stand out from the crowd so to speak. Will need to play well for a senior QAFL club or the Suns NEAFL team if he is to make the grade.

Yeah Beaman is all pace , though in saying that Josh Williams had blistering pace and was picked up by North at pick 30 odd , so recruiters like that , IMO Koenan will be on our list next season weather rookie or not I’m not sure , there is something about him that stands out to me.

I thought he was a part of the '01 class?

How tall is he at the moment?

You rate Koenen that highly? I thought Bailey Scott and Caleb Graham were the two biggest standouts for the Suns this year.
