To summarise the above, how about a name like "The Joiner" Joy for short

A very Carlton underground name. Like the hit man in the "the untouchables" clean cut well dressed in white suit then makes his hit

Nervous first outing and sometimes couldn't quite anticipate the quick handballs and transition provided by the likes of Cripps, but he always shows a few signs, as he did tonight, of the sheer class and talent he has.

Needs time and adjustment, but I'm bullish on him.

Just some basic errors that I didn't expect to see from him.

Not getting his body behind the ball and subsequently running past it numerous times and missing handballs due to poor anticipation of where teammates would be (as T2B_ indicated).

We need to invest in him of course, but he can't make those basic errors again at AFL level.

Looked a fraction behind the pace of the game and tired pretty quickly. Still I’d play him every game possible with a few rests to break up the season. He’ll be a player.

Looked exactly like what he is - a boy playing against men, not able to get away with what he could as a junior. Long way to go. Still remember a baby-faced Gibbs falling over himself in the goal square.

I certainly wouldn’t be dropping him after one game against the reigning premiers (still can’t believe it....could have been us if we’d had the fortitude to back Ratts who was no different to Hardwick but he had a better board...anyhow rant over) when he will be playing against a much easier, more open opponent in GCS

The poor (or lucky) bloke just played in a game that was the biggest crowd ever for an opening round in 150+ years of the game...
