Same reason Thommo was was limping from stoppage to stoppage in his last senior season when CEY was gunning it in the 2's. Once a senior player is in, they can't be belittled by being replaced with a junior player. Have you ever wondered why David Mackay is named on the field every week but starts on the bench? That's our culture of protection of senior player egos.
What a load of rubbish. Fair dinkum.

I suspect there may have been some creative draft strategy there.

Namely he said "I dont want to leave Adelaide"

That sort of stuff is happening a lot more behind the scenes in the draft.

Nothing official of course, that'd be tampering.. just wink wink stuff.

If you're asked, "what do you think about living in Melbourne" and your answer is that it's good for a couple of days, but i see myself returning home as soon as I can, it's not draft tampering, its honesty.

Years

Luke Brown is always good so he is rarely brought up. Probably the best role player in our side. And no one besides avid Crows fans know who the hell he is.

The nickname around the club for him is the silent assassain.

I hope Douglas doesn't come back next week, undisciplined action from a senior player.

Meanwhile every midfielder this week outperformed his performance last week.

If we drop someone and bring him back in, it won't be reward for effort.
He’ll have to come in for Matt Crouch.
And calling that bump undisciplined is just wrong.

Have the coaches received any praise yet?

Tweaked our game plan to combat the opposition and had a tactic for Rance.

That’s been a criticism when they haven’t worried about the opposition, looks like they’ve learnt a lesson.

Like it :thumbsu:

Keeps Fogarty in which needs to be a priority. Might kickstart McGovern's season too.

Douglas in for M Crouch.

Agree that Atkins is on thin ice. He's had a Donald Dickie like fall from grace since the hair.

Jenkins only gets bags against the crap teams so Richmond must be in for a poor season (jk)
Doesn’t make up for last year but at least things didn’t get worse.
Great to see players get an opportunity and take it. Top teams get casualties and still get wins. I’d rather this now than in rd 23 or the finals like every other year.
Bruce shut the **** up about the camp and the messages.

Yep that win should shut up the parasite media feeding on the Collective Minds saga. It shows that we had a bad day after many good days last season, sadly it was the GF. Sometimes you have to lose one to win one.
Gutsy win.

Agree

We have been screaming for our players to play on the edge with aggression and I’m with Pykey when he said that Dougies technique executing that bump was good

A mixture of bad luck, others taking their opportunities and one baffling call when Lever was injured.

Called op
I’m calling it now... would love to see mackay out next week... McGovern to mackays spot (he can’t do worse than Mackay).. Lynch in to McGovern’s spot

Atkins out... poholke in... poholke gets the ball a couple of times and lays some tackles and he’s already doing better than Atkins has recently..

Who comes in for mcrouch???.. gooch?...

Yep a few injuries are going to be the making of the Crows.Opportunity and depth for the long season...Poholke needs a run as does the Gallucci and yes even blood O'Brien.
This is going to be a roller coaster season with so many injuries and blokes not completely fit but this is a gusty team.

Was impressed with mileras physicality and agression tonight. He's never going to a fog like player but his intent was excellent. Looks to have actually put on some muscle. It was great to see him getting into the stoushes tonight.
I had a brain fade last night trying to work out who number 30 was. I did not associate that silhouette/body shape from up in the stands with twiggy Milera

I've read the first 10 pages before bed and there is no love for Luke Brown. Thought he had a really good game and is picking up some attacking slack in Smith's absence.
I think nikkinoo said it , silent assassin. Players and coaches know who he is.

Hartigan was top 5 in my BOG

No one epitomised our team spirit more than him

He was excepional , he'd be a great team mate as he is so selfless
:p
