Game Day Round 4: Ports vs. Essendon

Gray kicks the goal instead of giving to Polec, we goal instead of letting Essendon run it down and get an easy rebound and then Boak marks that last play from the centre bounce and goals...

Then it’s a 1 goal margin.... pathetic at the moment !!

Story of our year last year.....

Does anyone here think we are actually better?

Lol, we had so many opportunities to be only a goal down or even in front.
Easy set shots, dropped piss easy marks that would of released right out the back.

Couldn't possibly of played any worse but not out of it is a positive.
Too many good players too quiet, reeks of the Sydney game.
Big second half coming.

We are right in this game, less than 5 goals down and Essendon have largely dominated.

The fact it took over a quarter and a half to start getting clean possession only for that to be undone by some poor shots on goals speaks volumes.

If we can put the two together in the third and we'll be back in this.

Earlier in the week I said we need defensive pressure in our forward half, we have been hopeless. I also thought we should of picked Neade, he would be better than our captain right now.

Under Ken we just seem to never live up to it, we had our chances but stuffed them all up.

Not sure I can see us getting this one back.

Seems we are still just a team who seems to get up for the odd games...

and I bet Ken plays Frampton next week, a week too late because he's a stubborn prick.

Boak has played one decent game this year. Rest have been crap. He has no composure and limited skills.

I’d nearly go as far as saying he’s only played two decent quarters.

Typical Etihad Prots game

Robbie go back with purpose after a mark inside 50 and kick for goal ffs

Travis where is ya head at ?

oh well dreadful and still not too far down.. insert false belief

Wow, just wow. Pathetic.

Where do you start?

1. Lack of hardness and intensity for 80% of that half.
2. Terrible stoppage work everywhere other than centre of the ground, especially in defence.
3. Forwards refusing to get in front, chase or stick their tackles. Marshall the exception.
4. Players now occupying spots that they shouldn’t - Rockliff, Amon.
5. Skill errors galore - dry conditions, no breeze. Dropped marks (Boak countless of them), Setshots going everywhere (Dixon, Gray).
6. Failure to concentrate into time-on of both quarters.
7. Leaders making monumental ****-ups.
8. Key forward playing like princesses (Dixon).

And yet, after losing yet another first half, we’re less than five goals out of it and arguably have the momentum.

Let’s see how good this team really is after half-time.

Over to you, Ken.

The amount of times we halve a contest only for it to spit into the hands of an Essendon player second or third in the queue is maddening.

Even Hurley falling over at the beginning of that Stringer counter-attack began multiple coin flip moments that came up heads.
While agree, but we have opportunities to spoil or take the ball out to stop the play, but nope we go the mark and everything comes up Milhouse. For them
