If anyone is watching the sun's right now. They will get the spoon. Lynch will prob leave & they will get 1 & 2.

Carlton will be 17th & we will be 16th. So pick 4 is what I think we will get to work with.

So 2nd pick will be 21 you would think after FA compo it could slide back to 24/25 at worst. Will that bring us into tom berry range or will there be some others that will be too good to pass up before him?
I'd be happy with pick 4. Every chance one or both of Sam Walsh and Bailey Smith will be there.

I definitely want to try and upgrade our second round pick to a pick in the 15 to 18 range. I feel there is a good group of second tier mids in this years draft, but fear pick 24/25 will be to late to pick one of them up.

I would definitely be asking Sydney if their first round pick is available for a pick swap. Either for our 2018 second and third round picks with Sydney's fourth round pick coming back our way, or our 2018 & 2019 second round picks with Sydney's 2019 second round pick coming back our way.

I imagine quite a lot of clubs will be looking at Sydney's first round pick as getable. They will have to surely match a bid on Nick Blakey before their first pick. Right now, before trade period, Gold Coast, Carlton and West Coast (marginally) are the other teams who could offer better or comparable packages to what Brisbane could.

Had a couple of thoughts just then reading a few threads.

According to the Inexperience Watch we are actually quite a tall team across the board. Our top end is massive with several 200cm+ but even at the bottom end we have a lot of guys in the 180-190 and above. Most weeks we are taller than the opposition. Normally I am a little hesitant about smaller players but not sure that should be a factor for us this draft.

Another is with the look of the game going to be making changes to the game in October I wonder how that will change the game. Is there anything from that which should change who should be drafted
That's funny, because so often over the last two years or so I've watched games and been frustrated that our team seemed shorter and smaller all over the ground, and we've been pushed out of the way so easily. It was always frustrating watching Zorko, Taylor or Christensen play on an opponent who was head and shoulders taller.

I wonder if a team with a pick between 12-15 would trade us their first rounder for our second round picks this year and next.

I thought the same but by height we seem taller. At least by inexpensive watch thread. Definitely look smaller/skinnier though

They won't beat anyone, we will beat Carlton & them plus 1 or 2 others.
The only way they don't win the spoon is if Carlton don't win anymore games other than GC.
I do feel sorry for them cos they're going worse than us & I know how bad we are
Could have said the same about us after the Richmond game. While it's a bad result for the Suns it's probably going to be an outlier like the North game is the other way.

It's also not like Carlton has a long history of managing to comprehensively lose games when they're going to be the difference between picks 1 and 2.

I'm not calling it after 1 bad game. They haven't won a quarter in 5 games or something. Their form line has been declared dead.

The only game they have a chance at is against Carlton, especially as the AFL has now rescheduled that game to be played on the island of sodor

Looks like a similar finish to last year when one loss meant we had pick 1 instead of pick 4.

Ben King 5 goals and Bailey Smith 28 possessions and 10 tackles for Vic Metro today in their win against WA. Hill kicked 2 goals for WA.

Who do you like out of Walsh and Smith, LS?

I'm starting to lean towards Bailey Smith over Sam Walsh, that story about Smith I read during the week was outstanding (it was linked on this board somewhere), and to add to that most pundits say he has cleaner disposal.
