Speculating as they interviewed him (Barlow) last week on trade radio and Barlow himself said he would love to help out Crippa.

I personally haven’t heard SOS directly asked about him at all

As someone stuck in the shit hole that is WA, I’m a big fan of Barlow, would look good in blue.

AFL trade radio discussion on it a couple of days ago, SOS won’t do it because takes time in the middle away from kid. True, but for Cripps, the club and the kids I think we are better off for the experience, the big body and being competitive

If we need him we can pick him up later as a DFA, no point even considering it now.
Not that I don't rate Barlow. Just think why bother until we are done with the trade period and have a clearer picture of where the list sits.

Don't see how we could possibly afford him though since we'll surely be trading a future 2nd for Setterfield? Which means we can't trade our 1st.

Unless we trade our 2019 1st to GC for Martin and their future 2nd rounder. Can add some sweeteners if need be. Then on-trade that pick to GWS for Setterfield.

Suns also seemed adamant they wouldn't trade Martin (although they have been known to backflip).

No other word on Martin from any other ITK's yet.

Don't all get antsy... we'll complete Fasolo and Setterfield in the next couple of days... and then somehow you'll think we'll be done... and then in the final hour of trade week SOS will pull out his final cards. SOS wouldn't want to start advertising some plans to prevent the other hounds from trying to take a bite... the last few hours of trade week there is little time to organise and in the throes of making a deal clubs bend a little.

I don't think he was exactly proclaiming Martin is close to joining us or anything...maybe just someone we have interest in (GC may not) or even just a personal opinion he'd like Martin?

In any case, he's a good ITK but this off-season has proven ericpascoe, barrass70 and TheRedPill stand above the rest with almost zero misses, backing up their strike rate from last year as well.

I'll start to get excited if one of them mention Martin!

I agree that Graham and LeBois should be moved on but that only leaves four senior list spots available (hoping Byrne stays on). We're at least bringing in McGovern, Fasolo, Setterfield and Walsh but will likely use pick 43 and 67 at the draft so will probably need to move on two more players still. I won't be upset if Levi stays, I would just rather keep any of Rowe, Kerridge or Lamb ahead of him.

I think Byrne will not come back and I hope we keep LeBois

to be fair...they all said hawks as alt to us re shiel, and otherwise, he has exactly the same strike rate. knew setterfield...they all have the same good itk sense.

Since we're probably at Plan B now, Barlow at least rates a mention in our Plan C which should be encouraging because none of our game plans this season included a Plan C.

Love the attitude of Fasolo if that rumour regarding a 1 yr deal is true.

I also rate his aerial prowess for a small, add that to the versatility of gov and charlie in the air and ground level and it makes for a pretty exciting and versatile forward line. Oh and big H
An improving midfield over the next couple of years giving these athletes opportunities at 1 on 1 contests will be dangerous.

Also regarding his pressure or lack thereof, I understand the worry but adding a pressure forward in itself doesnt fix a problem, its about pressure by committee.

eric and barrass said Essendon were a threat monday night and neither ever said Shiel was ours...the best either of them gave was we were 'confident'...which the club probably was.

But hey, i appreciate all rumours and i know OR has a good strike rate so all good i'd be very excited to land Martin.

But in addition to OR if we get one of those 3 ITK's also saying Martin then i'll REALLY get excited.
