Not sure about anyone else but I actually like the time slot we are playing in tomorrow.

I can get all my book work and quoting outta the damn way and then just chill out on a satdee late arvo and just ease my way into fits of rage.

So calming I may even need a camomile to fire me up. 😎

I hate it, pretty much the entire game I will be trying to get dinner sorted for the family & organising kids baths etc.

A pool and pizza party and there’s the bathing and feeding done all at once! But yeah I hear ya, I do quite like Saturday arvo footy. Just feels right.

Probably a lovely bloke but it's a professional sporting team. He's judged by his performances, nothing to do with him as a person. This Arr0w bloke is talking smack about cuners and getting sooky that people disagree with him
This “Arrow bloke” is entitled to his opinion and has the runs on the board to back it up, and he’s not getting sooky he is putting forward a valid argument for the inclusion of Polson this week. Your getting sooky that he is stating facts about Cunners not being able to stay fit and on the park.

I'm just not sure what people think the alternative to polson is. small forward is still a huge hole in the list.

I don't necessarily disagree with your view on Polson v Cuningham, but you just have to realise this is an anonymous forum with the potential for easy trolling. Until a poster has a few good months on the board, there will naturally be a bit of wariness about whether they're genuine Blues fans. Especially when there's a heated argument going on with insults being thrown back and forth.

Pretty funny though, small forwards is all we had for so long and now for so long we have had a dearth in the land

Yep. Ratten was actually well ahead of the curve with his forward setup back in the day. Granted it was a bit ‘boom or bust’, but by god it was fun catching teams on the break.

It's disappointing when you have to read unpleasant verbal exchanges on our forum that get way too personal.
Kinda like watching your parents argue. Well done to the Moderators and long timers, to hose it down
We all barrack and love the same side FFS. A bit more maturity please.
I'm not the greatest fan of Polson. But there is nothing I would love more, than seeing him put in a blinder.
Kicks 2-3 goals, lays 5 tackles, 20+ good possessions. Then we can all graciously write on forum......
"Gee, didn't see that coming"

GO BLUES
Exactly the good thing about this forum, as opposed to others, is that the majority of posters on here are mature adults that can disagree without getting childish and personal. Long may it remain that way. 👍🏽😃

I think that was the point, a real aren't I smart comment.

The concept that people only see what supports their already formed opinions is scientifically proven and well established, if people want to call it something different to "perception" that's fine but the overall point stands.

Isn't that on the wall at every CFMEU and labor gathering???

Only thing is Ed has proven many times he can still get his fair of the pill when he's tagging .

Cunners actually mainly played mid and was involved at a lot of centre bounces.
Polson doesn't play midfield.

So i'd fully expect Ed to fill the Cunners void and play mid and at plenty of centre square bounces. We need his big body in there to help against Rockliff, Boak and SPP. Happy for him to 'mind' either Rocky or Boak.

Rocky's possessions may not have as much hurt factor as some other players, but when he's throwing his weight around and wracking up 40+ possessions the weight of numbers do certainly hurt.

I think Ed will play more midfield minutes with Cunners out, but still spend plenty of time in the same role as last week.

Yeah it's an annoying time slot...i don't have kids or anything but it crosses over dinner and I like to eat out on a Saturday night.
And it's just right in the middle of the day.

Not sure about that.

From what i gather Polson and Gibbons likely to play forward pretty much all game...i don't see either of them playing many midfield minutes at all.

That doesn't really leave much time to Ed to spend plenty of time down there, as we'll need him for midfield rotations. Can't have 3 small forwards who don't play much midfield time...especially with our young mids.

Polson actually does play midfield, got his first game, oddly against the same opponent, based on his VFL midfield form which at the time was very good. Mind you that game destroyed his confidence as he wasn’t ready and we went in way to young in that game.

Polson, Gibbons and Ed are all midfielders and not forwards. We are trying to turn them into forwards. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Against Essendon in JLT Gibbons displayed some nice forward craft, sadly at the moment he's probably our best small forward.
I don't like Ed as a forward, but maybe just send him to lock down on Burton

Cuningham was predominantly forward last week so it isn't like we need to find 70-80 midfield minutes. I can't really see why Gibbons wouldn't be able to spend a bit of time through the middle given thats where he played all his VFL career.

SPS, Fisher, Setterfield, Murphy, Dow, Walsh & Cripps will do the bulk of the midfield minutes

On Cunners, he actually played predominately mid last week, not forward.
This is backed by his heat map and the number of centre square bounces he attended.

Aware that Gibbons played mid in the VFL, so would be interested to see if he gets game time there this week and how he goes...we seem to have slotted him in the team predominately as a small forward though.

I guess Polson also played midfield in juniors and some VFL, but can't seem him playing midfield at AFL level.

Still, i think against the likes Boak, Rockliff and SPP that tactically it would be beneficial anyway for Ed to play a decent chunk of the game in the midfield and let Polson/Gibbons spend majority of the time forward.
