What is so bad is that he got the sack after a virual rebuild gone wrong and that club fails to lure a big name despite the mega offers.
Of course that is conjecture but to me it comes after 9 and a half seasons of just ok results.
Some will say he had no players. I call that crap.

He got North Melbourne into a consistent top 8 side.

Rebuild? Absolutely not. He wasn’t allowed to rebuild. If North bottom out for an extended period they relocate to Tassie, they are the smallest of the Melbourne clubs with a tiny supporter base struggling to stay relevant against 9 other Victorian sides, they can’t afford to rebuild or bottom out.

They have no real home ground advantage again, unlike the other Vic clubs. Also hard to attract a big name when they have 8 other Victorian clubs to choose from - especially when they play in front of bigger crowds and can offer similar money (everyone has the same salary cap).

He had stints of having good players, the year he made his prelim the best 22 were definitely not terrible but lacked depth, but the lack of resources he had to deal with would’ve been hard for him.

Not saying he’s a brilliant coach but he’s pretty well qualified for a position imo.

Ross Stevenson on 3aw this morning lead the rumour file with. Close sources have told him a Carlton board member had a meeting with Scott. His rumours are usually correct. Just passing on what was said.
2nd hand info, but some long standing members with good connections said the same thing yesterday. They also mentioned trying to lure Cunnington across.

I'm interested in what is so bad about Brad Scott? Take his personality out of it for a second.
Personality is almost everything for a head coach IMO. And from what i've heard - not very collaborative, quite traditional, has an ego - the opposite of what you want with a young, easily influenced group.

If we are looking for a new coach and I will probably get slammed for the suggestion I would be looking at Michael Voss.

We all know what happened at Brisbane but he should not have gotten that job in the first place with no coaching experience. He has gone away and worked hard with Port Adelaide and has done his time.

I would say over the course of the last 48hours we have seen the exact opposite of what you have heard.

I think his reputation as a player has carried over as well as the fact he is quite outspoken.

I stress I want Bolton to stay but if it did happen (hope it doesnt) Brad Scott would be high on my list. What he has done at north with the lack of resources and poor recruitment has been pretty good. The way his players play for him (or directed by him) says a lot.

I get that, but I'd take someone with some mongrel if it means they will get us up the ladder. Babying and mentoring the kids will only get us so far.

This is definitely what I'm talking about. He took an average list to two prelims. Imagine what he could do with one filled with young talent.

We'd be talking to Scott's management that's for sure. Along with everyone else (available or not). IF we are to move Bolton on Scott would probably be my first choice.

1. Scott
2. Caracella
3. Ratts
4. DavillaBlues
5. Roos
6. Lyon
7. Longmire
Seriously? On what basis?

If we hired Scott i'd have to have serious thoughts about following this club.. i'm diehard but Scott is a step too far

We are after a consistent GF and Flag side, not just top 8. Lets stick with Bolts until end of 2020 and then see how we are travelling

I'd want our club to be turning over every stone. That's what they should be doing, in good times and in bad.
If Bolton turns his focus to the external noises and covering his back, he may be better served simply packing up and moving off now.

One thing we know though, the CFC aren't known for warm, exit-handshakes.
Not for Ratten, not for Trigg, not for Matlthouse, not for Swann and not for many players.........Bolton would know this, so packing up may not be an option.

more loyalty to bolton than the club? or is it more you don't like scott?

I think scott would be good, and so does Juddy. Gave him a glowing endorsement
Juddy was asked the question...he is not going to say he is a crap coach or personality etc on tv ...we just need to wait and see what happens...

His recent media presentation doesnt align with his perception from those within north (not players, but administrative side). They did sack him mid-season, even after he offered to coach out the year.....if that doesnt raise any sort of alarm bells, then we have different perspectives
