People wanting to trade one of our tall forwards are nuts. Teams would kill to have multiple key forward prospects like ours...They will work it out and it offers so much flexibility.

We’ve nailed the hardest part of building a list and can now just fill it out. No reaching for talls in the first round, no random long term speculative picks, no relying on VFL quality players. Set and forget and concentrate on depth.

Why on earth would we give that up?

The way he kicked for goal the other week I'm guessing he was on the "Collingwood to kick more behinds than goals" market.
Could also have been spoon feeding Pendlebury to get him to 30+ possessions.
If either of those scenarios are true (though hard to prove), then he needs to be banned for life. Yes, life.
It's not just the issue of illegal betting, it's also match tampering.
The flow on effect is that the general public have their bets effected as well.

No disrespect to teague but voss has the better footy cv by a long way.

People seem to forget the bloke is a dead set legend of the game.

Young players would be in awe of what he has done and who he is.
I think he has a great CV by what he has done as a player, but that doesn’t automatically make him a great coach. His record as a coach is not good. Wasn’t that long ago that he was being called “Crazy Voss” and for good reason. His time at Brisbane was a disaster and Ports midfield doesn’t look that great.

Teague has a better coaching resume. Looked good when he coached the Bull ants and then did a great job at Adelaide.

The AFL need to clamp down on sports betting advertising it’s everywhere I know it won’t happen but it’s constantly shoved at us
Then conveniently ‘gamble responsibly ‘
Yep, gambling is a terrible addiction. I witnessed it first hand and watched someone lose everything.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I put gambling in the same boat as drug addiction.

Carlisle and Hannerbery went there. Although hard to say no to that sort of money on offer.

From a very closely involved source, Carlisle was initially set to go to Carlton; with our bevy of draft picks and desire to rebuild around KP players it made perfect sense.

We did a medical scan and saw Carlisle’s degenerative back problem, and ran a mile away. So Essendon went back to St Kilda who didn’t do a proper scan; the bombers jumped on it.

I was told at the time he would be out of the league in 3 years; it’s actually taken a bit longer than that, but there you go.

Probably would have cost us the Curnow pick straight up, so I’m ok with how that worked out

Well, the AFL does tell us to "gamble responsibly"... Stephenson taking it to a whole new level!

It's not actually funny, of course, because of the risk of corruption. While I think it was undoubtedly a (very) dumb-kid mistake, the AFL still need to make an example of him. Hand down a 12-month penalty, mitigate that with reference to his age, 'fessing up, being dumb, and promising never to do it again, and you end up just rubbing him out for the rest of 2019. Let him back in for day 1 of the 2020 pre-season. I think it'd be enough of a deterrent to serve the purpose, while not wrecking the guy's career.

Don't really have an issue with the advertising or the betting agencies TBH. I generally don't pay attention to them or any other advertisers either. Sponsors need to get their money's worth. Australia really isn't a country that has a plethora of sponsors lined up ready to throw millions upon millions at sporting bodies.
