Chris Judd has fearlessly backed his own interests forever and forever will - M8. You do some research and don't preach to me.

What, like getting a good deal with Visy or a good payday coming across to us? Nothing more than most players would do.

Where on earth are you going with this crusade?

You quoted Jabba when he referenced Trump by telling him not to run with the herd. You were probably referring to the Lyon analogy but it was unclear so I asked.

oh I see...I wasn't referring to the Trump reference.

I'm just not as excited about Judd cosying up to Messiah Roos as many seem to be on here - not at all - in fact not one bit.

Keep winning Teague.

Is he though? I haven't seen that anywhere.

The reaction to the comments made by Judd is a classic example of making a mountain out of a mole hill, unbelievable.

Cookie Monster mentioned it earlier tonight i think and some people like JAB have just taken it as gospel and started hating on Juddy for some reason...

Nothing to do with Cookie Monster's post ...

I didn't like Judd's Training Wheels meme and I don't like the idea of Roos at Carlton - simple as that.

Can live with the Training Wheels comment as I still don’t believe it was aimed at Teague, reckon Judd was simply stating a fact that we wanted someone ready to coach their own team, who had a working knowledge of what that entails. The media ran with the story they wanted forcing the club to clarify they were wrong. Judd admitted he wasn’t clear enough with his meaning for those in the media who have an agenda and deliberately can’t understand plain English.

Agree with the second part, Roos seems to be a little needy, wants a well paid job that gives him some relevance again with none of the pressure of being in charge. There would not be many easier jobs than being paid to mentor a relatively experienced coach, in charge of our list, with no real accountability for the next 2-3 seasons.

When JaB and Jab starting quoting each other it's time for bed.

I'm installing a sharps container before our safe injecting room is built.

Ross does the best press conferences in the game.

I’m not sure I want him coaching us, but I sure as hell want him to continue coaching someone so I get to see him say ‘Ross things’...
Hear hear.

Need at least one curmudgeonly old bastard in the game, if only to keep Mark Stevens sweating. I must've been the only one who enjoyed watching Malthouse's clear dislike of the bloke in his press conferences.

It's why Footy Classified was a bad choice for him to begin his media career, in my irrelevant opinion. That show is designed to have people put themselves on the line, to have the other three personalities go fairly hard at you and your position, and for you to go at them when it's their turn. To his credit, he's done well, up until this point.

His retraction of what he said, though, displays a good deal more maturity than the others who have sat that desk. Caro doesn't really admit that she's wrong, Hutcho doesn't either, where Lloyd cannot hold a position longer than a single episode without saying something stupid. All he really needs to do is to consider his words carefully, how they can be misconstrued by the multitudes of people looking to print something that will draw the eye. This is his minefield now, if he chooses it, and unlike some he now has an accurate image of what it looks like when he makes a mistake. If he persists with his media commitments, he at least goes in with his eyes open now.

I will preach to you then, because you are talking about a player that carried us to wins that would not have happened without him, and as far as I can see he is a loyal Carlton person and is happy to represent us in the media, even though he put his foot in it when talking about the search for a new coach without "training wheels". Is it his fault that Carlton offered him the "crown jewels" to come to Carlton. I know that Juddy has done well out of footy but that does not exclude him from being a loyal person as far as the club goes, and the fact that he is still connected with Carlton shows that he has the clubs`interests at heart. After all, he could just go elsewhere and "fearlessly back his own interests" as you put it!!! Besides, why shoot down one of our own great players.......how does that help the club or anyone for that matter!!! Some people in life have a "narky" point of view.........end of my sermon for today. (no research necessary)

For a bloke that during his playing days, and as a captain of a club, was very vocal in saying he didn't enjoy being in the limelight, or the role footballers had to play in the media....

He seems verrrry happy to lap it up now that he's figured out he's actually no good at doing anything other than football

Why didn't he display this aptitude to lead and represent when he was actually the captain of our club, and we needed him most??
This is exactly the crap the poster you replied to was talking about. Different roles different focus. It can't be that hard to figure out.

I also hope that by the amount of replies you've got to this post of people defending judd and people liking those posts you realise you're dead wrong.

Yep, well said. This is really what it comes down to ^^^^
But for this instance, he’s been pretty damn good at manoeuvring his way through the potential pitfalls. He’ll be even better moving forward.

I am no Roos fan but to be fair to him, he didn't anoint Goodwin as his successor, the club did.

Pretty sure that his first choice was Stewart Dew but his then current club wouldn't release him.

I thought that Goodwin had plenty of red flags from the * debacle. Pretty strange choice for mine.
