So how does the panel evolve, ?So we need to follow some kind of process to appoint the panel who will coordinate the process of selecting a new coach?
Which process do we follow to determine which process by which we select the people who will select the panel who will select the coach? I don't know why she swallowed a fly.
Well clearly Bolts wasn’t the perfect fit for where we are at, we’re at a different stage now, he was great at nurturing and developmentFor me the most important part of appointing a coach is that it is someone that gets them to win and keep winning regularly for years on end.
All the perfect fit stuff is fine but we already had the perfect fit and kept losing.
I don't care if all the players and staff hate the coaches guts if it gets us some flags.
Fevola.With what ?
Where we a professionally run footy club ?
Well resourced ?
Good recruiting ?
Good fitness staff leading to few injuries ?
All things than can impact a team and coach .
BTW who were the 2 best players in the game Judd + ?

Yes but the mantra was that Bolts was it.....so therefore the general consensus was incorrect and therefore perfect fit means nothing when it comes to 22 blokes and a football.Well clearly Bolts wasn’t the perfect fit for where we are at, we’re at a different stage now, he was great at nurturing and development
Optics matter.
So for someone in Judd's position to come out and say what he did how he did about the interim coach isn't great optics.
If it was nothing the club wouldn't have come out with another person in power to counter Judd's statement.
Fair enough agree to disagree as the team was hamstrung as was the coach due to a club not being in a professional state at the time .Fevola.
The team was good enough, the coach wasn't... and some success is what fixes all the rest.
That is my opinion. Anyone else can think what they like.......![]()
Don't mind me. I am grumpy cos I havent had no breakfast yet..........Fair enough agree to disagree as the team was hamstrung as was the coach due to a club not being in a professional state at the time .
Its only now with the appointment of Russell that I believe the CFC has finally caught up to its competitors in preparing the players to be the best they can be on field . Fevola was gone end of 09 not even half way through Rattens tenure .
Had too large an input into list management in his previous gig and recommended the elevation of Shane Rogers to head recruiter, who basically mangled the list in 3 years. Good luck to Ratts with the Saints, don't want him back at Carlton.
So how does the panel evolve, ?
Mates out to lunch ?
I also think the process in appointing the panel was poor, was there a process ? Also, with the clubs history of coaching appointments over the years, you can’t help feel they could be a bit spooked, look who knows , I’m just hopeful they can get it right and maybe be a bit bold, I’m in the Teague camp
Been there done that with Ratts. Rather move forward.
I'm not writing Ratten off, I just don't want him back as coach of Carlton. Too many decisions made by him which affected the club years after his departure. I think he probably is primed for a second crack somewhere else though. So you're going to completely write off a bloke for mistakes made a decade ago, many of which were due to a failure of structures at the Club, who has since spent 6 years as a senior assistant under the best coach in the game, winning 3 Premierships?
Geeez
I’m not advocating for Ratten - but we also “been there and did that” with David Parkin, then we “went there and did that again” with David Parkin.
Andy Maher is cringeworthy I find. He takes the the art of waffle to a new low.
And in his attempts to try and come across as unbiased he puts the boots into his own club all the time. Not good.
The Voss hate is over the top.
Wasn’t a success at Brisbane but that doesn’t make him a s**t candidate in 2019, in my opinion.
Yes but the mantra was that Bolts was it.....so therefore the general consensus was incorrect and therefore perfect fit means nothing when it comes to 22 blokes and a football.
Agreed mate. I aren't suggesting Bolts was the wrong man in that moment. On the contrary.Things change though, right?
I think Bolton was a really good appointment. He did so much right, especially in the first 2 years. Think about the position of the Club when he took over.
Unfortunately, things started to go off the rails, and for whatever reason he wasn't able to adjust.
That does not mean it wasn't the right appointment.
