Teague wants Betts, sos isn't as keen. Compromise is basically that sos will get him if it's cheap enough (cap and trade wise) and if he can't get other targets over the line.

Eddie has said he'd be happy to take less money to get back to the blues compared to his current contract/gcs offer. Although that's with a bit of wink wink knowing the club will look after him after retirement.

Personally think we are more likely to land papley and Martin in which case it would be no Betts

Interesting, i assume Teague is simply expressing his desire to have Betts, and has accepted SOS' response.

Let's be honest, SOS is going about it the right way. If the best small forward we can get is an almost 33 year old Eddie, then we've failed in our brief to bring in some quality small forwards in the right age bracket.

Would much prefer to see names like Papley, Martin and Bolton on the team sheet in 2020, than Betts considering he'll likely retire after 1 year, 2 max.

Cameron apparently has been dominant in the NEAFL.

We have two injury prone ruckmen now who are both around 30. Not sure what more we could do to strengthen our ruck stocks.

It may also suggest that Cas is potentially on his way out...and also that TDK seen more as a ruck/forward option, much like Cas is right now.

Makes complete sense to me. I can't imagine anyone at the Club thinking you'd give up muchin terms of trade and salary to brings Betts in. There's a fair debate around whether you bring him in at all, but you'd think it would only be if he didn't cost much.

I guess Cameron will be a reasonable backup ruckman. Gotta say I'm not over excited, he can't get a game for a side that has been running out without a genuine ruckman. I haven't seen him play so I will hold judgement until then. He's a 23 year old ruckman and that's where he does tick the box. If Agresta and SOS think this is a good get then I trust their judgement.

His NEAFL stats are pretty good so that's a good sign.

Is it just me who would prefer to "miss out" on Martin?

He seems an inconsistent and ordinary player whenever I have watched him with no best position. IMO would not be worth $500k-600k let alone the draft capital needed to get him. What role would he play in our team? He is not a small forward, not particularly quick or strong.

Instead give me Papley and a gun midfielder please!

(In saying that if we do get Martin I will back him in 100%)

Would say it has more to do with GC, than Martin himself. Not many players have thrived there over the years.

Swans didn’t bother keeping Nankervis either when Richmond offered them buggerall for him. That backfired on them.

Constable was around pick 30 in his draft and we chose TDK
Happy with that as he will take over the Ruck position and can play forward

Very happy with TDK, excited about his upside

Just still staggers me that Constable slid so far

High half-forward who presents up the ground, but also drags his opponent deep in the forward 50 on fast turnovers and creates havoc in the air and on the ground. Also great forward nous at forward 50 stoppages.

Basically the role Lang/Dow were playing in the second half of the season - except he'll be able to execute that role at a much higher level.
