Any insights on the B+ mid? Can be taken very subjectively. On potential/talent or current output. Right now, I'd call Wines a B+ mid with potential for A grade (first few years projected that way). Crouch is on his way, too.

But if we're talking a very young player like Bonar/Caldwell, its a different metric.

Although Martin isn't an A-grade calibre player (at the moment), there is no doubting that in the right environment he may flourish and take his game to the next level.

Feels nice to beat Dogs (offering more money and good young team) and Essendon (cause *).

Both those teams played finals. Hopefully shows other players also see our potential to rise quickly.

I don't know why Saad chose Essendon in the end, but I do know through my connections in the wider Coburg Lebanese community that his primary preference was Carlton.

Maybe we should have another ping for him. I think we're a pretty different club to the CFC of 2 years ago.

We used our equivalent pick - 2018 2nd rd +2018 3rd rd + 77 + Gibbs for 10 + 16 + 73 + crows 2018 2nd rd. Crows 2018 2nd rd was available but at that stage that was projected to be worse than the dons 2018 2nd (crows finished 2nd in 2017)

As for the blues 2017 2nd - we’d earmarked Kennedy

Saad May have been nice but there would have been a cost associated with picking him up - perhaps we just didn’t want to pay it/had other priorities

I don't think it would be guys quite as in demand like Wines & Crouch.

I'm thinking guys like Seb Ross/Menegola. Would take Acres as well for the right price.

I really think SOS will be able to get Martin without using a first at all...like early 2nd or even 2 x mid 2nd rounders.

OOC, asked to be traded 2 years in a row, dropped for the last month of the season so obviously it's not all rosy there.

Keep our firsts in tact for bigger fish.

Don't miss him at all.

Some nice dashes out of defence and that's about it.

Not actually very good at defending, and has gone missing in a lot of Essendon games this year. Easily locked down.
In the heat of big games like finals where there's little time and space, again he goes missing...he's one dimensional.

Like Jones. Williams has been more of a HBF, which we obviously don't need. But as a winger, he'd be just as good. I'd personally rather B. Hill.

If you think this year's draft is bland, next year is a step down again with all the academy/NGA/FS
