They are all in front of Newman.

At least 3 of them will always play. We have never gone with only 1 or 2 of them when all fit.
Can't see how Caleb is? His one great asset (intercept marking) is bettered by Jones and Weitering, iffy disposal, not as versatile as Plow.

Hasn't nailed a spot since Jones re-ignited his career, and of course the lack of continuity doesn't help

Not necessarily.

There are many worse footballers to have won a premiership than Nic Newman.

As is the case for many.

He didn't play too many bad games, but did have his moments, and turnovers coming out of the defensive half always seem to stick more in the mind of supporters because of how costly they can be.

Often referred to as “Plowman Syndrome”..............

Tomlinson ran a 10.32min 3 km at the 2011 draft combine. Kerridge was 30 seconds quicker. There would be at least 4 quicker around Princes Park.

8 years ago. Scully is the only Giant to have clocked a quicker TT than Tomlinson in recent history, and he’s better than our lot.

Ed might best him but I’d be surprised if anyone else does regularly.

I love this man.

Me too. SOS is like our secret weapon for crafting a mighty premiership team.

Then you have Russell to keep that team at peak on the park.

And lastly the Teague Train to guide the team to the ultimate success of # 17.

The SOS-Russell-Teague combo is the most powerful unit in the AFL! #Exciting2020

When you wrote it like that it’s even more awesome than what it looks like in parts. God I can’t wait for next year

They aren’t actually. He plays smaller. Is more aggressive offensively. Scores goals. And can intercept as good as all of them as the spare when allowed.

Carlton will not be a successful side with Plowman, Marchbank, Weitering and jones all playing in the same side. Which is why Newman plays a role.

Try fitting this together for 2020 for me:
Jones
Weitering
Plowman
Marchbsnk
Docherty
Newman
Simpson
Williamson
SPS

If we play 4 talls and two smalls we will remain Irrelevant for a very long time.

the original post was lost - the context was 'for a bloke his height and weight' - Tomlinson is under-rated by a lot in here very versatile player, but we probably don't need him now.

Plowman and Williamson play small as much as being tall.

I'd love him if Casbolt leaves. Would be better drifting forward but not quite as good drifting back. He wouldn't pitch hit in the ruck but would go on the wing and surely his inclusion with the other oxygen brothers we would have to be one of the best tanks in the AFL. Hello fourth quarter specialist.

We may not have better next year but when we push for a flag we need players like him to be fringe.

He had some great games but the gap between his good and bad is too big.

Newman will have an important role to play in this team yet and IMO is most certainly part of our premiership plan right now.

Underrated defensively and will work very nicely with Doc.
