They aren’t actually. He plays smaller. Is more aggressive offensively. Scores goals. And can intercept as good as all of them as the spare when allowed.
Carlton will not be a successful side with Plowman, Marchbank, Weitering and jones all playing in the same side. Which is why Newman plays a role.
Try fitting this together for 2020 for me:
Jones
Weitering
Plowman
Marchbsnk
Docherty
Newman
Simpson
Williamson
SPS
If we play 4 talls and two smalls we will remain Irrelevant for a very long time.
There are 7 defenders picked in our 22.
The first 5 are easy:
B: Docherty, Jones, Plowman
HB: Marchbank, Weitering
They are not '4 talls'. Jones and Weitering are KPDs. Marchbank the 3rd tall/intercept. Plowman gets the shit jobs (Dusty/Cameron/Grey etc. etc.)
The rest of them are (if everyone is fit) battling for the last 2 spots, or playing somewhere else on the field (Samo is clearly best 22, may or may not be played back).
