im ootl whats the riot act?

Players are sat down together and given a mandatory 1-2 hour seminar/presentation each year regarding drug testing, ASADA, dangers, what to look out for, what their responsibilities are, what the potential charges can be.

Rioli will have sat through at least one of these, likely 2, during his time at WCE.

SOS would never pay $ or picks Freo will demand.

That is what i love about SOS, he never willingly pays overs for trades, and opposition supporters hate it. When was the last time we got 'fleeced in a trade ? (probably that Kristan Jaksch disaster, ironically enough)

cheers for that, im guessing those seminars are at the start of their time off?

Exactly for a team that's never played finals he's averaged 16 games a season (and he had some shocking injuries early on as well - missed half a season after his first game doing an AC).

He can play, and as long as he's in the right headspace and is a good cultural fit within the team ethos than we should start taking some calculated risks again.

Spot on.

2014 - missed 12 games with a serious shoulder injury, requiring surgery.
2015 - missed 3 games with an ankle injury after the club had him playing through it during the early season, then injured his hamstring in the opening minute of his return game and missed another 8.

That's some bad luck and management there. Nasty contact injury in his debut game ruled him out for three months. His second season saw the club play him through an ankle injury at the start of the season, which he eventually succumbed to. Then in what looks like poor management, he was brought back three weeks later only to do a hammy less than a minute into the game.

2016 - missed one game through "soreness" - general management during his first "full" season.
2017 - played every game.
2018 - was a late out in the China game with "illness", missed the last 5 games of the season with a calf injury.
2019 - missed 3 games with a finger injury, dropped for the final 2 games (club knew he was leaving?)

Averaging 18.5 games per season in the last four years, would have been 19 if he hadn't been dropped at the end of the year (which is safe to assume was due to his plan to leave). Not seeing an issue.

Yeah can't wait to see what Freo want though..

I am just staggered St Kilda are offering 900 K p/a for Hill's services, very good player, but that amount is considerable overs.

SOS did the perfect job interview with that trade period.

If I can do that to you when I like you, imagine what I can do for you

No, he should have thrown the trade period and traded us Tomlinson and Hopper for a 3rd rounder.

Just like WCE nuffy fans saying Kelly should throw the grand final, so WCE wins and he then joins them after lol.

Wife: ferris, why are you spending so much time on bigfooty now that the season has finished?
Miss 8yo: Because daddy needs to read about all the new players that Carlton is going to get.

...now, I don't like playing favourites in my family, BUT.....

I have 2 really good Swannies mates and they are fuming re the thought of losing Paps and, furthermore, don’t see the need for JD up forward.

Makes me more committed to getting him. 🕺🏻

Buddy is 105 years old and players like Hayward, Mcartin and Blakey need time to develop. If JD is fit he's a huge get for them.

He was absolutely insane against the Dogs in the first game playing in the guts

I'd give him one more year down back and then look to move him him full time in 2021 once Murph and/or Ed are done.

Had the same fire in the pre season matches..when he is the zone he is a beast

What's that got to do with our culture?

Makes perfect sense. Use a current example to remind players of the rules and expectations, and the potential impact if they screw up.

You kidding?

They are read the riot act each preseason. A little refresher possibly ensures we don't enter 2020 with an * next to a players availability.

Obviously happy for as many education sessions as required - I interpreted ‘reading the riot act’ as to really scold the group.
