if he stays on as an assiatnt coach or something like that then it could work. im not sure if he would be a good assiatnt coach? if the role theyre considering is similar to what andrew walker did for a year or so before leaving that may be ok but i do wonder why walker left that role?

anyway im really hoping a deal can be made and we see betts running around in our forward line even if its for just 1 year.

Jacobs wouldn't be coming back to Victoria just for one year and with nothing ahead of that - Doesn't make sense.

Something doesn't add up around Cameron either, unless we've realised that it may actually be best to wait a year and get the ruck-man we need, instead of a developing one...or...maybe given he's going to Collingwood, we may have already had our fingers in the Max Lynch pie....maybe not.

I'd be happy just to plug away another year with Kreuzer....Phillips as back-up...and TDK a small step behind that. That's enough.

We'd be dangling a long term deal including a staff role for sure. Transition to our back room would be very enticing. 1 year from Adelaide vs. post retirement career. He has a young family and that will be the basis of whichever he decides.

Well Tom Browne is suggesting that Daniher is going to request a trade to the Swans, which would help facilitate us getting Papley.

But how does the deal get done?

Essendon are going to probably expect Sydney's Pick 4, and our Pick 8 for Daniher?

Sure they can ask for Pick 4 and 8 but they won’t get it. Daniher is a free agent end of next season so if no deal this year then next year Swans get him for free and * will get a first round pick as compensation (if they don’t get another free agent in). Plus * are better off using his 2020 salary elsewhere especially on an inside mid. So I think a deal gets done and it’s no where close to being the equivalent of like a pick 1 or 2 as you’re suggesting.

Keep in mind (assuming they all end up coming) that Betts is likely only a one year playing proposition. Butler is still young, so even if he's in and out in 2020, from 2021 there's a spot there for him if his form warrants it.
