Oh well no amount of bleating from me is gonna change the smorgasboard of picks and assistance they are getting from their AFL sugar daddy, so time to start celebrating the prospect of getting Papley, Martin, Eddie, Butler and possibly a good mature mid for next year. We are seriously better placed for a solid rise up the ladder. Throw in Doch, Charlie, Marchy, Jones and wow!! That is starting to look like an immensely talented list.

The fact that TP has stated that he would like to be traded to CFC (when many thought the he wouldn't nominate at all) immediately following the completion of the AFL season should tell you how strongly he wants to get to the Blues. Both camps know this and will reach an amicable agreement.

I am happy the GC got the compensation. Could well mean that they aren't as desperate to get a ridiculous deal for Martin and will just get the deal done and worry more about trying to get good talent in the door without needing our pick to be a first rounder.

Anyone else get the feeling the GCS will use the academy stuff, picking up players without bidding, to stockpile any worthwhile ones and then trade them on to other clubs for picks and then eventually players? Could generate a decent few more picks for them on top the current concessions. Would have to think AFL have told them pretty explicitly to study how GWS did their drafting/recruiting with the constant shuffling to retain top picks in each draft since their inception.
