From one of my good mate's (Deano) who has solid ITK connections at Richmond.

I would vouch for his credibility.

I rate Butler. Fingers crossed it's just been lack of opportunities that have seen him flounder. Hope it doesn't interfere with us getting him for a bargain pick.

I think Dow is a victim of Bolton's midfield strategy - by the time Teague sent the big boys into the middle his confidence was completely shot.

insert broken record sounds about how too many of the kids spent too much time getting battered for too long....

How do the newbies slot in?

I think Butler becomes Eddie's replacement in the long term (and in the short term, he is injury cover for Eddie/Paps/Martin/Cunners).

Eddie Charlie Papley
Martin McKay McGovern

Cunners
starts on Bench for mid/forward rotations.
Personally I would play Martin 70/30 Mid/Fwd just for his pace. Curnow, Cripps, Murphy, Dow, Setterfield are all quite slow so Martin in that mix will gives us the speed and he can sure deliver it inside 50 for our talls

Kelly can nominate for either National or Preseason draft.

Rule 6.2(c)(i)(B)

He can also nominate his wages in EITHER draft. You can't draft him unless you're willing to pay up.

(This is also the reason we have had chats with his management. Next to no chance he gets into the draft...but if he does....)

Surely if he nominates for the national draft he'll end up at the Dees. He's obviously a risk and no way would GCS jeopardise Rowell and Anderson.
Or if he nominates for the PSD he'll end up at GCS.

Patient guys... Papley and Martin will be at Carlton next year.

Anyone else reckon Barass may not be the hero we deserve ,but the hero we need ?

I'd try -

Cuningham CCurnow Papley
Betts McKay McGovern

Martin plays wing or HBF.
No need for Butler I'd say.

The forward line would finally have some speed, tricks and strength about it.
Won't hurt for the talls to come back a bit fitter and stronger either.

Personally I would play Martin 70/30 Mid/Fwd just for his pace. Curnow, Cripps, Murphy, Walsh, Dow, Setterfield are all quite slow so Martin in that mix will gives us the speed and he can sure deliver it inside 50 for our talls

True true.

Having Martin, SPS, Docherty and Newman (and Simpson) will provide a lot of good run and ball usage coming out of the backline.
