I would try to avoid throwing in the third rounder for next year, only because it prevents us from being able to trade next years 1st (AFL rule) just limits options, even though realistically I don’t see where it could possibly go, but leave it available incase something becomes available otherwise we have to find a way to get a third back for next year and I don’t see the currency to be able to do that. We could always ask the afl for the exemption, they have given it before, but then your relying on our plan matching their agendaSounds pretty spot on I reckon. Points trade with WC is perfect and does suit their needs.
14 for Papley will need a 3rd round sweetener. That way instead of on trading 9 to Bombers they trade 14 and get a 3rd rounder.
Value of trades:
WC points out: 1946. Carlton: 1881. Always a slight premium to higher picks. Tick.
Blues out 14 and a third (say next year 45): 1508 (back to the value of 8/9).
Sydney out: Papley and 4, in Daniher and 3rd rounder (us) and 2nd rounder (Bombers). Out value 3542. In Daniher + 347 + 750. Values Daniher at between pick 2 and 3 on his own.
Bombers lose Daniher and second round next year. Gain 14 and 4.
Seems....perfect.
