Cripps averages a lot more clearances when Philips is in the side. While he was beaten in those first few games he still competed. It was when Lobbe was in the team that we were uncompetitive in the ruck.

No guarantees that a ruck from 2nd grade football like Cameron will be any better. The big positive was that he had a decent run with his body this year.

I agree about Phillips and Cripps combo. Big red is a great tap ruckman and when he is fit, gets around the ground well. Just doesn't have the consistency with his body unfortunately. I love big red as a backup ruck.

You play them both and decimate all before you....
They would be pretty much unstoppable together if the inner mid & outside runners got there structures right & it’s not like we don’t have the forwards to accept it lace out. Would be seriously scary - can’t see us having the currency or salary space to get it done thou
Unfortunately there may be a grain of truth to that post though. Thing is,having a red hot crack does not a player get. It may get that player the long contract they want at their own club though.

Maybe we could get the unknown player to wear a mask and sing us the club song. Then we might be able to get Lindsay Lohan to work out who it is? 🤔
This is a superb idea for a new afl show. No more draft day. We do it in the masked singer format.
Bah bowwwww
Sorry unmask. you are going to the GC.

Phillips has been more than serviceable when in the team

Absolutely zero chance of getting Grundy. Don't waste your time folks.

Getting him isn't the only thing in play making Pies pay max price to keep him is also important.

Carlton doesn't have a durable #1 ruck and we won one game without Kruezer against a ruckmen who'd played less than 20 games.

I believe a #1 ruck is an absolutely critical need for us.

I wouldn’t worry about what Sam Edmund is saying. Paps has nominated us. Barass and tencentpiece sound confident too.

Papley to Bombers makes too much sense in terms of Daniher trade and and Fantasia leaving.

Will be a challenge for SOS to get it done!

There were two important trees in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:17), the tree of life (ITK's), and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (media), to which God (the existing One) commanded to not feed on...

In the beginning there was nothing.

And SOS said "let there be list".

And there was.

On the latest rumour from the non discussion thread, in regards to landing a big fish, that might mean we can’t/won’t land Martin and Papley.

Regardless of who the player is, if we already have Martin and Papley (contracted) nominating us, they are the priority. You can’t as an organisation, put in this effort and have these guys commit to you, only to pull the rug from underneath their feet, once a better offer comes along. It does not bode well for future recruits, club reputation and relationships with other clubs and managers.

If this guy is a big fish, bite the bullet and get all 3.

Casboult not on today’s FA list. So presume that means he’s contracted. Can’t go Fa.

Maybe I missed it. I felt there was a view he was still a FA and had the option to trigger himself.

That would be the exact kind of thing prohibited by the clause that everyone is talking about with Papley (a one sided option to extend).

Going by that provision in the CBA, only automatic triggers seem to be able to be included. There wouldn't be much point to a trigger if both sides had to agree to invoke it - it would have no point.

Seems he is contracted after all.

Absolutely agree our reputation and integrity is at stake if Martin & Papley should remain our priorities.
If the mystery player is a significant talent then by all means snare all four, make some sacrifices and adjustments and snaffle them all, Betts, Martin, Papley and the elite midfielder.
We’ll be in the final 8 in September 2020.
