My comment was directed at the fella who said West Coast would want 2 first rounders for Gaff to let him go....
My reply was that we should go to market next year with 2 firsts next year rather than spending two firsts on Gaff...sorry for the confusion

How do we get 2 x 1sts next year.?
Don't think the AFL will hand out a PP to a top 4 side!

I doubt this conversation is interesting to most but why do you think a unilateral option to terminate offends against the general rules of contract? There are termination for convenience clauses in many contracts. They depend on the wording of the clause but I doubt that's going to be an issue here.
Hi Chris, you're the bloke who was live-tweeting the * doping hearings right? Never knew you were a Blues man.

Welcome to the board.

Doesn't give much away, does SOS? I can imagine him at home....

Ben: Dad, what's for dinner?
SOS: Nothing has been decided yet, I'll sit down with the kitchen manager and work through some discussions.
Ben: How about pasta? You love pasta and haven't had it in ages!
SOS: Look, I'd be happy if pasta was on the menu. I'm open to any type of carbohydrate-based meal, but if a protein-based meal was suggested, I'll take a look at that too. At the end of the day, I'm also respectful that the chef might have already chosen the menu for tonight.
Ben: OK, how about I order some takeaway?
SOS: Look, I'm not desperate for takeaway. We have some really good fresh ingredients in the fridge already and we're confident about the food we can cook ourselves. If I find some takeaway that complements our home-cooked meal, then I'm open to considering that.

Ben: **** it! I guess I'm ordering uber eats again.....

You are an hilarious genius

Any clarification on this news a fellow workmate heard today on the radio somewhere and rushed up to tell me after lunch on site...

Papley for next years future 1st.

This years #9 is being given to the Eagles to try and get Andrew Gaff.

Now i did ask the bloke that told me if he had been smoking shards during lunch when he told me, but he reckons he heard it may be happening but i cannot seriously see us landing Gaff at all.

I am just catching up on this opening day of trade period now after walking in from work and not being able to access a radio or much of my phone all day for updates.

I read somewhere that Gaff's contract allows him to walk as an unrestricted free agent if he triggers the clause in it. Wouldn't that mean we don't have to give anything up for him and the Eagles would get a compensation for him leaving?

In saying that, I don't know how true this is but it would make things interesting.

Because of lack of certainty.
Assuming your not intending to mean termination due to frustration, the notion of mere convenience can't be left to the discretion of a single party; it has to be capable of objective determination, hence need for prior identification of circumstances that fall within that description. What you seem to be describing, is often found in building contracts, and has been described by at least one court as a "leonian' clause; it runs risk of voiding an entire agreement if deemed solely discretionary, because it might kill of consideration or make it illusory

I think the whole gaff scenario is fair play at the minute.
Usually in past years when a big name like this comes out u get mixed news from our itk posters. But this just seems different to me, the information where receiving from the itk’s at Present (regarding big fish)is all coming from the same angle as each other, where as in the past u would have some saying one thing and others another.
If what Carlton09 has said today is true then we could well be in up to our fins with this big fish
IMO
