Treloar big fish that TRP is talking about?

Hear me out.... Reported today that Collingwood/GC were talking about Pick 1 and what it would take, and Treloar was floated, but shut down by him...

Left field, I know, but you never know, unless you're ITK, you know?

We are gonna need a bigger boat..

He signed a 4 year extension in July. Doubt it is him.

The trade period is way to long ! It should start Monday morning and finish Friday evening
But the afl would be racking it in from advertising and will probably end up making even longer
Trade radio is just constant advertising I end up turning it off because it annoys me that much

Ok, I've gone through the "hints" the ITKs have provided, and excluding Gaff hints, it's someone who is a free agent of some sort end of next year.

Someone "unmentioned"

De Goey?
Duncan?
Heppell?
Whitfield?
Cameron?

Then the one's who seem to fit the bill but have been "mentioned".

Crouch, Grundy, Viney.

Needs to be an hour max, make it more like Russian roulette..

Perhaps... But i'd think it's a real kick in the teeth from your own club where you feel as though you are in the top 5 but they're still willing to fish you about.

I'd be upset.

That fishing about happened last year, so I doubt he's too upset by it if he signed an extension 8 months later. Seems well entrenched at Collingwood.

Question, didn't one of the ITK's say the mid had been an important part in premiership team/s? Or am I completely mis-remembering?

I have not seen this posted. Got a source? Really curious now, if so that is pretty dumb thing to do.

Anyways I think the most gettable fish is one of these 3 players.

Mitch Duncan

James Harmes

Dom Sheed

Not sure if you can classify them as big fish

A few media outlets running with the story. See FoxSports, 7news, and AFL. Don't know if we can post links in this thread, but just google it.

Edit: Take the stories with a grain of salt, but still interesting...

Story goes that GC and Collingwood were discussing possible trade scenarios using GC's first rounder (ie. Pick 1 this season), and Adam Treloar's name was brought up by one party (not clear which). Both clubs were evidently open enough to the possibility that the prospect was run by Treloar himself, who promptly shut it down.

If I had to guess, I'd say GC approached Collingwood, asked about the chances of dealing Pick 1 for a senior midfielder, put Treloar's name on the table, and Collingwood weren't completely averse to the potential of a Treloar for Rowell deal.

I thought I'd read that these discussions took place late last year (ie. for GC's "future" first round pick), but it appears that's not the case. Reported to have been the second half of season 2019.

Maybe Treloar is miffed at the Collingwood list management team, but I don't think we'd have the currency to get the deal done. As much as Collingwood might have been interested if it was Rowell coming their way, I sincerely doubt they're as excited about Pick 9 plus our future pick (8-12?).
