When I was a kid I played soccer a bit, amongst a bunch of other sports, and was a Chelsea fan.

Once the oil money came in and then basically bought a whole new team and started swapping players like they were trading cards, I really lost interest. They won a few more titles, but when you can't recognise half the team any given week it just loses its appeal.

Premierships are the aim, but the club and the players that make it up are what keep me invested.

Yes we'll lose a few either way, it's unavoidable, but there has to be some loyalty and continuity otherwise it will turn into the EPL or even NBA where nowadays I only follow players, not teams.

Unless we are trading Weitering, Walsh, Curnow or McKay than most of our young players aren’t going to net us much so it is abit of a case of worth more to us then they are in a trade imo.

And we are expecting big improvements? With that in mind, I don't understand effectively trading out of the draft for Martin and Papley, if it were to come to that.
